This novel rates high as one of the most enjoyable books I’ve read. Writing about her own experiences, Cara smoothly combines her romance and true love with worldly adventures on a cruise ship, as a casino Croupier (dealer).. I’m unable to decide which part I enjoyed best – the visits to exotic places where she finds the local cafes away from the tourist traps (becoming known as the “food scout”), she described the scenery, the food and the locals so vividly that I felt I was there and part of i ...more

I accidentally chose this book to read as part of my trial Prime membership at Amazon. I thought I was downloading a free book. I would have chosen differently had I realized what I was doing. So I bumped it up a extra star (I would have given it two stars) to not defer my frustration on to the book over to mix up on the downloading error.

I have been on three cruises and thought the behind the scenes story was interesting. I would have liked at little more character development on someone other

For someone who never went on a cruise ship, this book was quite an adventure, without even stepping my foot on a boat. I was exposed to a world un-known to me with different rules of the game. Take this book with you to your vacation, take it to the beach, take it to a crui ...more

I loved how the author(s) wove the perspectives between main characters Sarah and Paul, drawing them ever closer together, and bringing us along to all the exotic ports of call. This is a fun read, perfect for the beach, or... a cruise, of course! Lots of humor and plenty of romance. Well done!

Fun, informative book full of vignettes about life on a cruise ship and the eventual romance that unfolds. I've done a lot of cruising, and I learned things about what it's like from the "other side" of the passenger/crew equation.

Growing up in a straight laced Southern family, I was always fascinated with casinos. In my twenties on a summer hiatus from teaching in North Carolina, I drove to California and became a dealer at Caesars in Lake Tahoe. My mother highly disapproved of my working in a casino, "a place so bad it has 'sin' in the middle." Eventually, I succumbed to pressure from the family and returned east to take ...more
