Westerns aren't my thing, but I had to choose one for the Reader's Advisory Group I attend at the library. This was a typical western. The characters were well drawn. Couldn't help but think of the Deputy Dawg cartoon or the Lone Ranger and Tonto the entire time I was reading this book. From the vernacular language (very tiresome after a while) to the stereotypical characters, this was straight out of 1960s TV land. The plot could easily have translated to a modern day thriller set anywhere else--good guys, bad guys, and secrets. Glad it was short and was a fast read.
