This is 4 stars for fans of Noel only,
Noel and Russell Brand taking something very seriously

I think if you have no idea who Noel Fielding is
1st your less likely to ever come upon this book
2nd I think in reading any of the short stories you would think I am mad for saying this is 4 stars.
Noel Fielding with some of his art
Noel Fielding

This is mostly a collection of his art, which is in a word, bold.
Bold colour, bold strokes bold subjects and themes (strange subjects and themes as well). There are some shor...more

I adore Noel Fielding. I loved him on The IT Crowd as the random goth guy who lived in the closet. I love him on Never Mind The Buzzcocks. So when I saw this book at work, I needed to "read" it. I tracked it down at the library.

I'm not much for looking at art but I love Noel Fielding's artwork. I love his vibrant use of colour. I love the shapes and picasso-like nature of some of his paintings. Cubism with his unique twist. You can see his personality in his paintings. Odd, quirky and humorous....more

A book of Noel's art and some tiny stories. The hand writing in this book is small and awkward and colourful and can be annoying at times. You'll probably only be a huge fan of this if you like Noel/Mighty Boosh i do think Noel is really talented and funny guy but this book does fall short and its not as good as say Vic Reeves' art books that are really amazing. So only get this if you're a huge fan otherwise there isn't really anything new in this book that you haven't already seen before as No...more

Much as I love Noel Fielding, I didn't really like this book. Sorry Noel.
Some of the artwork is pretty good but the text gets increasingly annoying as you go through. There isn't a lot of it but if you read the book in one sitting, by about half way through it is just drivel.
I do love The Mighty Boosh and the silly sayings that are in that but a book full of sentences made up of random words is a bit tedious.
I am looking forward to Noel's new TV series on E4 in the New Year though. It will be...more

Just to make it clear, this is an art book, not an autobiography or a memoir or anything like that, so if that's what you're expecting, you're going to be disappointed.

There's a wide sampling of his works, everything from painted plates to a few short stories, and some really lovely photographs of Noel working. Scribblings is a peek inside the mind of Noel Fielding and if you're paying enough attention, you can learn a lot about him.

I was transported to a magical world of colour and light. Fantasy and reality. It's the kind of thing you will love if you love Luxury Comedy. This is obviously the case for me. This book is the embodiment of someone who is all at once generous and uncompromising with his ideas. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars so I'll add 5 xxxxx and <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

And don't forget Dave Brown, he made it beautiful! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

This book is like falling down the rabbit hole of Noel's mind and attempting to wander around without a tour guide, or at the very least a Cheshire Cat. The artwork is crazy and imaginative. The stories are outrageous and fantastical.
This book is far different than I thought it would be, and that is entirely okay by me! I can't wait until Noel writes a full on memoir.

What do you do with a book like this? For me it's toilet reading at it's very best;
I guess it's principally a coffee table book, though Noel Fielding himself may find
my analogy of it's use more amusing!

Noel is as mad a box of Chocolate Frogs and although sometimes the Humor goes a little
over my head I still find hime to be higley amusing; the artwork is first rate if at
times like the book a little odd.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book but be prepared Madcap Scribbings Indeed.

Noel Fielding is an amazing artist and tells wonderful stories. The book itself is very well crafted and feels good to hold... it also feels good to see so many colourful and original pieces all in the same place. If you like the Boosh, I don't see why you wouldn't love this book.

Enough said.

This is awesome.

I love Noel Fielding and everything he's done on television. I'm an artist and I was given this book last Christmas and Noel Fielding's style within his artwork is incredible. Such a talented man, if you love art and surreal stories, I'd recommend this book to you.

ok so i'm obviously biased. but i loved noel's crazy art and his crazy world that he created in this book. not all his drawings and paintings are good... but i liked lots of them. his mad scribblings have cheered me up on those gloomy autumn days.

I never really thought myself to be one to buy a book on essentialy all artwork. Being a fan of Noel's antics on TMB and on NMTB I knew that this would be good, as it was! I've looked through it several times.
Janitag
Colourful and happy like Noel himself.

There's so much going on in his head. With his wild imagination and silly words I think he'd make a good children's book, too.

Loved it!

fantastic & inspiring artwork from one of the weirdest & wittiest minds on the planet. I've been pawing through it every day since Xmas and it gets more amazing every time.

This is more of a book of art than a book of words, but that didn't stop it leaving a lasting impression on me. Noel Fielding is a genius, and I adore him.
Liberty
Very good book. His art is very unique and influenced more by imagination than how complex or challenging a piece is, which is what I like about it.
Jet
I wanted to read autobiography, but it is 95% visual art
Daniel
The title sums it up. The artwork is bold and vibrant, following a constant style and theme, but mostly didn't appeal to me. I am definitely no art critic, just a simple Noel Fielding/Mighty Boosh fan. I wanted more stories, I enjoyed them in all their surreal nonsense, even if the text was hard to read at times. A lot of fun, and a nice coffee table or "casual reading on a rainy day" book.
Fish
This book is just so effortlessly perfect, simply because each page is something directly from Noel's mind. Each photo and picture and short story is different but you can relate them all to Noel.
Noel Fielding is perfection personified, so it makes sense that his art reflects that. I love this book and I love the man that wrote it. He has the guts to be different, something that many people lack.
He is his own person, and I love him for it.

If I could give this book a million stars out of 5, I would. It's wonderful. A little insight into the mind of a bizarre yet incredibly talented creature. Even if you're not a massive fan of Noel Fielding like me, but you like art or surrealism or creativity, you'll find this book really interesting and I hope you love it as much as me. (Maybe I'm biased because I'm in it....)
Kayla Cummins
Noel Fielding is probably one of the most fabulous people ever. His art is like walking into a new world.
Bob Hartley
Christ, this book's sick. It makes me want to paint shit on the wall and couple it with senselss phrases. He has that faux-naive knack for saying things without sense or context, but they look and sound witty. I use this book when I'm in a rut with uni work (I do graphic arts).

This has pictures of his ar twork from the exhibit in Soho,London, with the corresponding ,hilarious text.It also has great pictures of the man himself and an intro written by him. There is a foreword from his old art teacher.

Noel Fielding is a magic man. I love him for his imagination, and its childishness just makes his art and his words more fascinating and wonderful. It's like you're in the wonderful land of Oz all of a sudden.
Heath
Visually very interesting. It has little comments and stories by Noel Fielding to help you understand his inspiration. It is a great little book from the mind of a madcap.
Kaje
The cover is padded to contain the madness within. Definately worth the wait. A feast for the eyes and the brain. xo
