This was a terribly flawed book. The story and characters were frustrating, at times hair-rippingly so, but I did read through to the end because I knew there had to be some climaxy kinda thing. It held my interest for that, at least. And from here, I discovered that this novel was based on the murder-by-duel of Lt.
