-this book tells of the story of the Mexican holiday-Cinco de Mayo
-explains why it is celebrated, as well as symbols and rituals that happen on that day
-a good way to introduce holidays and festivals
-will make a good connection, especially with children in your class from Mexico and/or Mexican descent

Cinco de Mayo is a picture and informational text that introduces readers to what Cinco de Mayo is and why is it special to the Spanish culture? For a writing lesson, I would have students to write about an important holiday that they celebrate and why is it special to them?
