There are a few weaknesses to the book but overall it is very informative. I'd known of Pierre LeGloan, one of only two pilots to become an ace on both sides of World War II, and bits about some of the other characters involved but was surprised to learn that Roald Dahl had been involved in the fighting in Syria. He had scored three victories over German Ju 88 bombers and possibly shot down one Vichy French machine. Also interesting was the inclusion of the exploits of Moshe Dayan. I had not ...more
