Vanessa wants it all. Her dreams include an Upper Eastside apartment, an enormously successful business, the perfect Legacy ring from Tiffany’s and of course a closet full of Louboutin’s. So what happens when she achieves all of this and more? Thrilled by her new life and love jet-setting from Manhattan to West Palm Beach it’s hard to believe that only a few months ago she was on the losing end of a not-so-ideal relationship. But is her new life and success worth it? Will Vanessa discover there...more

Erica Negi does a wonderful job with creating a realistic and endearing character, Vanessa Schwartz, in MY LIFE IN LOUBIES. Vanessa's dreams, as she approaches the big-3-0, are balanced tactfully in her Loubies as she copes with love and loss on many levels. With each turning page, readers can't help but want to be Vanessa's friend...to rescue her from the Palm Beach socialites to feeling for her when her best friend Emily turns her back on her to wanting to help her raise her toddler niece. Wow, I did not like this book at all. I picked it up because a few of the fashion people I follow in Twitter recommended it as a good "beach read," but I wouldn't recommend it.

For starters, the book was poorly edited. I don't know if that's because I was reading it on my Kindle or if the print version is the same, but there were so many grammatical errors that it was distracting. Additionally, I think the editor could have provided better direction in terms of the content of the story. The flas...more

Fast, fun read. There were times when the main character was unlikeable and there were times I related with her anyway. The book description gave away too many details for me, though. I was waiting for the ball to drop throughout the whole thing and then it felt like the fall out/conclusion was very quick. I still liked it though and I'd read more from this author. 3.5 stars if I could do halves;)

Was not impressed AT ALL! Even for a quick and mindless read I was super disappointed. It wasn't very well written and I was skipping pages just to get to the end because it was so bad.

Not the best thing I ever read. It has potential but it flunk...badly. It gets boring, but I do like the way it ends. I felt the female main character at least grew up.
Lindsay
Great, fun read. Especially if you love New York, fashion, Palm Beach or all of the above!

Nothing to write home about. I wanted an easy, girlie read and it served its purpose.
Wendi

I finally read my whole book, from cover-to-cover...obviously I loved it!

3.8 stars; a fun read, not typical chick-lit. MLiL could use a bit of refining in the editing department, and some of the story left me with questions, but it's still a really good story! looking forward to the follow-up. :)
Lauren
It was a cute story, but the writing was repetitive in some spots like the author was still in high school!
