The book covers more of the business side of comedy than a "how-to".
Personal anecdotes and interviews with comedians are interesting.
I still would go with the comedy bible for a primary reference on the business and the "how to".

A few hints on the business side of becoming a standup comic, but the book is mostly anecdotes from famous comedians (Carrot Top and others.) Mostly 'do your own thing' and other nuggets of crap.

The author tries to be as funny as his subject matter. It doesn't work. In fact, it gets somewhat annoying...
