Christmas at Tiffany’s is a novel about friendship and love throughout a journey of discovery and reinvention. Having gone through a similar starting over process myself as the main character, Cassie - unfortunately without the world travel - I could relate to much of what she was going through. There were times though that I wondered what she was doing or cringed at her decisions and those her friends forced on her, but in the end Cassie found her way and I e...more

My sister gave it to me as a Christmas gift. And with the title, I figured I should read it during the Christmas season, as to feel the vibe or something. But after I finished it, I'd say you don't need to wait for the Christmas season to read it. It's not about Christmas. Sure, it has about two scenes at Tiffany's during the season. But you know what they say, "It's not the destination, but the journey."

Book was literally thick. But it is a fairly easy read. I haven't finished reading a book in...more

I bought this book last year for my birthday, sure I would read it within the year. Yeah, right... this poor book gathered dust on my bookshelf for almost a year before I remembered its existence, and considering I was looking for something to make me forget I ever laid eyes on 50 shades of gray, I opened this book and prayed for a miracle. And the miracle happened, just not exactly the way I hoped.
I loved this book, the characters, their fierce loyalty and their friendship, but the Paris plot...more

I was drawn to this book last Christmas because of its lovely festive cover, some wonderful frosty New York scene (I'm a sucker for a New York setting), but this book turned out to be so much more than a simple Christmas read. The novel features four strong women, joined together in friendship from childhood and their efforts to sort out one fiend, Cassie, who finds out her husband of ten years has been cheating on her at their ten year anniversary party. Cassie is sent by her three friends on a...more

I LOVED this book. The title quickly caught my eye and after I read the synopsis I was sold. I myself have always wanted to travel specifically to the 3 destinations Cassie visits throughout the book: New York, Paris and London. I loved the way Swan managed to create such vivid images for the readers. I really warmed up to Cassie as the novel and her character progressed. I especially loved Bas's character. There were a lot of moments where I found myself laughing out loud because of him. And I...more

Oh my. I've just stayed up way past my bedtime because I had to finish this book. From the cover and synopsis, I'd expected a light hearted, fun story. It was so much more. For basically the entire last third of the book, this was me:

Honestly, I went from laughing to crying to smiling to crying again every 5 minutes. I'm sure I looked insane. I don't want to spoil any of the plot points as I think that'd take a lot from the story, but unless I'm just being a cry baby, have tissues at hand. I do...more

You know the sign of a good book when you can't put it down as you're so drawn into the story. Christmas at Tiffany's is about the lives of four best friends, Cassie, Anouk, Suzy and Kelly who are there for each other when the life of one of them falls apart. I've spent the last two days ill, curled up with my kindle reading Christmas at Tiffany's. Reading it has been a brilliant ray of sunshine and I've loved the trip round New York, Paris and London whilst on my sofa. There's been good and bad...more

Cassie's marriage of 10 years ends the day of her anniversary. Having been married since she was 20 and at a loss as to what to do, her 3 best friends are on hand to help out. She'll spend the next year between the 3 for them, 4 months in New York with Kelly, 4 months in France with Anouk and 4 months in London with Suzy. In the next year she plans to discover what she wants to do with her life.

Overall I liked this book for what it was, but the coincidences and happenings sometimes seemed OTT. T...more

That's last summer chick-lit bestseller, well at least I saw this book everywhere. And I didn't know what to expect: Bridget Jones or Twilight?
It's happened to me to find this book in my hands and I was quite impressed! It's a good chick lit :D Maybe too predictable, but good. I couldn't put it down until dawn (When finally I read the last sentence)
I cannot give it 5 stars, even it stole my sleep, because of it's unlikely events. I do believe in Destiny of love, but not in a Destiny that let 4 f...more

No, questo è diverso.

I really really liked this book. I loved seeing how each of the 3 cities that Cassie lived in was different. The fashion, the peoples' attitudes, the cuisine, the social scenes were so interesting to see and compare. I also appreciated the friendship that the 4 ladies had (although those friendships were tested at one point)and how much they did for each other. I loved the lists given to Cassie to fulfill in each city and I enjoyed the new friends she met along the way. Oh and btw, there is very...more

An enjoyable lightweight romance. The main character Cassie is cheated on by her husband and is whisked away from the Scottish Highlands by her friends to try out new lives around the world. She spends the first third of the year in New York, then moves to Paris and ends her year in London. The plot is a little thin and the characters are somewhat 2D, but overall it's a fantastic premise - who wouldn't want to have the chance to try out different lives in glamourous locations around the world -...more

Karen Swan is the author of three novels, but Christmas At Tiffany’s is the only one I’ve read. Her first two novels – Players and Prima Donna – are perhaps a bit of a different genre to Christmas At Tiffany’s, and if you read the blurbs you will see why, and I was quite intrigued as to why Karen had seemingly switched to Chick Lit instead of the glamorous reads she first came out with, and I was also interested in just how close this novel is to Melissa Hill’s novel Something From Tiffany’s. I...more

I like the story plot very much.. one get to recover from a heartbreak by rediscovering herself via stops at various places and to find the place where she feel most suitable. In this book, Cassie who discovered his adultery with her best friend on the day of their 10th anniversary, fled their marriage home with her three best friends. Coincidently; the three friend; Anouk, Suzy and Kelly is living in three different parts of the world; Paris, London and New York. Cassie is going to spend with t...more

Once I became aware of Karen Swan's latest novel, Christmas At Tiffany's it automatically became a must-read book. The cover is beautiful and the title really enticed me into wanting to read the book straight away. As soon as Christmas At Tiffany's arrived I curled up on the sofa with a steaming mug of hot chocolate ready to delve into Cassie's journey.

While the idea for the story was nothing unique or original, I have to admit that the idea of Cassie bein...more

Far too long! And far too many coincidences, people turning up out of the blue in another country and just happening to bump into the main character.
If you want chick-lit which travels around different cities inc. New York, London and Paris, go for Lindsay Kelk.
To me, this book tried to squeeze all of what Lindsay Kelk does over 4/5 books into 1 book, hence why it was far too long for chick lit and by the end you'd forgotten what happened at the beginning.
Others seem to like this book though,...more

Christmas at Tiffany's! After her 10 year marriage falls apart Cassie is swooped away by her friends. She takes a year long journey living in New York, Paris and London! I was disappointed when lovely Italy was not included in the journey BUT surprise.... A random trip to Venice appears! This was a predictable read but non the less I really enjoyed it. Each of her friends lives in one of the cities so you get to step inside someone's life and how each person lives within their city!

This book tells the story of 30 year old Cassie, who after facing a huge problem in her marriage takes turns living all around the world trying to find the life that she was deprived of by marrying the first man she fell in love with. I love this story and I love all the characters, especially Henry. However I totally don't support the idea of what Cassie is doing. It seems to me as if this were to actually happen in real life it would cause a lot of pyschological damage. Reinventing your life o...more

This is such a unique love story between a woman who thought herself the most boring and average person and a man who's been there and done that! I love the sweet side of Cassie, and I cried and laugh with her throughout the story. It must'n have been easy to write a story that spans three countries! But I love it. It somehow reminds me of Eat, pray, love, except that this is so much more exciting! Henry sounds delicious too;)

I honestly didn't expect anything like a literature sensation ;-) Just an easy book to breeze through and wind down round christmas. A stereotype love story was what I expected. But I have to admit this story has its charms. It has nice characters, and the story had some surprises even though the main direction is clear. It was a very nice read, especially around christmas, because after you've put the book away, and you'll pick it up again you'll get back into the story quickly. A nice story to...more

Synopsis: A woman finds out that her husband of ten years has been unfaithful and decides to leave and live with three of her closest frieds. The friends lives in New York, Paris, and London. In each city she struggles to find out who she is and what to do with her life.

I really liked this book because it shows how Cassie struggles with her identity and the novel was really engaging. If you are looking for a chick lit to read, this is a good one. Of coure there is a happily ever after and the en...more

I nearly threw the towel in during the first half of the book as it was so boring and over long but as soon as the Venice trip took place, I was hooked. I really liked, Cassie and Suzy but loved Henry. I didn't particularly like Kelly and Anouk but they were obviously necessary to the story. I liked Henry's lists; how lovely. It's a book that has you feeling fuzzy and cosy (second half, of course) and has left me glad that I stuck with it and finished it.

Don’t be fooled by the title this book, is not all about Christmas, I
thought this was going to be a Christmas book, but Christmas appeared
twice. I really enjoyed this book, although it starts with a Prologue
and I found that really hard to understand because of the number of
characters, however as the rest of the story unfolds it was easy to
follow and would definitely recommend. I also think this book would
make a great film.

It's a nice story to pass the time.

The writing can be at times a bit confusing, suddenly the characters just changed the subject and it takes the nest paragraph or two to really understand what they are talking about now. There isn't a fluidness in the conversations. The same can be said about when a chapter changes.

Also found a bit predictable, but overall, it's a good book to pass a good time and relax.

An absolutely charming story, i am not much into "chick lit" as i often find the story compromised and too easy going, this grabbed me from the first chapter.
Cassie's marriage breaks up so her best friends offer to support her and help her to live and explore herself in the cities they live in.
Cassie has to find a new her and a new way of coping on her own.
A lovely Christmassy, festive story.
Well worth reading.

Eventually got into this story but found the writing less of "showing" and far more just "telling" which irritated me. I liked the idea and there were parts where I really wanted the characters to get together, but on the whole I don't think I cared enough about them and found it quite predictable. As a light hearted read it was OK, just don't think I will remember much about it in a years time.
