This is the second in the Men of Allegany county series. Another good read. I had read the first book when I realised I didn't have the 3rd book. So I decided to wait till I had it to read the next 3 books at the same time. this book features megan who runs a candy store and Danny who's family run a candy business. When I began reading Small-Town Hearts, I was quickly pulled into the story . . . and I found myself wishing I could smack Danny Graham! Who does he think he is, coming into town, buying up property for a new candy store, when he knows his family’s chain store will put Megan — and her sweet, quaint store — out of business!

A nice romance set in small-town U.S.A. It's along the lines of the movies "The Shop Around the Corner" and "You've Got Mail." Danny is the heir to a large chain of candy stores and Megan struggles to make ends meet in her little candy shop. When he decides to scope a new location for his grandmother's business and meets feisty Megan, he gets more than he bargained for. It's a fun romp and my favorite part?! The fudge recipe at the end! I haven't made it yet... but I will!

I love the conflict the heroine experienced between fighting her feelings and yet acting the opposite much of the time. So realistic. Great job, Ruthy! Thanks for the sweet read. :D
Ruth Logan Herne loves Charlie Brown Christmas trees, rooting for the underdog and people who go the distance while others see the path as too long or broken! She loves God, chocolate, writing, dogs and is blessed by a sprawling family, oodles of grandkids and a sweet old farmhouse in constant need of work. She's sure that clean rooms are over-rated, snakes and possums should mind their own ...moreMore about Ruth Logan Herne...
