Loved the hero who was just trying to do the right thing and twice-burned heroine. An excellent, sweet read!

This is the second in the Men of Allegany county series. Another good read. I had read the first book when I realised I didn't have the 3rd book. So I decided to wait till I had it to read the next 3 books at the same time. this book features megan who runs a candy store and Danny who's family run a candy business. He is in town to find a venue for a tribute store and runs into Megan and her mentally challenged brother, Ben. Ben is fun and maybe an adult but has the thinking of a child and the ...more

When I began reading Small-Town Hearts, I was quickly pulled into the story . . . and I found myself wishing I could smack Danny Graham! Who does he think he is, coming into town, buying up property for a new candy store, when he knows his family’s chain store will put Megan — and her sweet, quaint store — out of business!

Well, at least she plays it cool . . . a little.

I can’t say more, or I might give away too much of the story — and I don’t do spoilers!

So what you need to do now is get a copy

A nice romance set in small-town U.S.A. It's along the lines of the movies "The Shop Around the Corner" and "You've Got Mail." Danny is the heir to a large chain of candy stores and Megan struggles to make ends meet in her little candy shop. When he decides to scope a new location for his grandmother's business and meets feisty Megan, he gets more than he bargained for. It's a fun romp and my favorite part?! The fudge recipe at the end! I haven't made it yet... but I will!

What a sweet story! And it has Ruthy written all over it which made it even more endearing to me. I love that there was conflict, but it wasn't over the top. I love the conflict the heroine experienced between fighting her feelings and yet acting the opposite much of the time. So realistic. Great job, Ruthy! Thanks for the sweet read. :D

Caution: When reading this book you may gain wait. The candy story owners life was so well described it made me hungry. Ruthy is a wonderful person and it shows through her writing.
