This passionate and compelling story really drew me in with its emotional intensity, in-depth characterisation, moving romance, vivid imagery and excellent dialogue.

Matty is the perfect hero. With patience, tenderness and unconditional love, he helps Jezzy to heal.

No matter how she tested his boundaries, no matter what buttons she tried to push, Matty never once wavered. So instead he became her soft place to fall, a treasure to be cherished.

Jezzy is a tormented soul consumed with grief and gui

I've followed blogs, reviews and spoken with AJ about this book since May and knew what to expect...I thought. Nothing can truly prepare you for this book. Just pick up Jezebel's Wish and READ IT for yourself. After all- that's really the only way you'll know.

I was in awe of the depth AJ Nuest took these characters all the way to the end. What a bitch she was to Matty! But you know what? I got her. I felt what she felt, where she was coming from and I didn't hate her. Did I cry? Yes. I cried. B

In AJ Nuest’s debut novel for The Wild Rose Press, she tells the story or Jezebel a who comes home to Wisconsin to try and heal from the scars left behind in Chicago, scars caused by the accidental death of her fiancé. She has a hard enough time trying to fit into her mother’s life, let alone acclimate herself to the horse ranch her mother’s purchased since her last visit home, Redemption Ranch. She’s also acquired a love for a very noisy, somewhat ornery, heart-stoppingly handsome horse by the ...more

I have to admit that at first Jezzy was rough around the edges. I found she rode a line for me, where I wasn’t fond of some of the things she did and at times I struggled to like her. And I have to say I hated not knowing quite what had happened to her. That drove me nuts, frankly. Lol

But the character voice was incredible. I’m usually not too fond of too many details. I usually skim over them. But every tiny detail came from Jezzy’s very unique point of view, I felt as if I was seeing the world

I read a lot of plot driven books. Books in both the hero and heroine's POV. Jezebel's Wish is a character-driven romance in the heroine's POV. I was half-way through the book before I realized the author never wrote a single word in Matty's POV. But I got to know Matty through Jezzy's eyes. And I absolutely fell in love with him.

As for Jezzy, Ms. Nuest does more than just reveal the story through her POV, she makes you see through Jezzy's eyes and feel what Jezzy feels. And the author's descrip

Jezzy and Matty's romance was a thing of beauty. From their first meeting when Jezzy decided she couldn't stand the interfering vet, and the constant power struggle from then on, you were aware that Matty always knew his direction - straight to her heart. He wanted her, and she had to learn that she was worth being wanted. It meant overcoming horrible dreams that reminded her nightly that she wasn't worthy. The Reverend, her horse, became her friend and confidant and helped her to face her ...more

Heated passion and fervent intensity send sparks flying off the pages

This compelling contemporary romance is a deeply beguiling tale of true love, heartrending truism and sincerity that speaks to the soul. Full of emotive, truth-drawing and often rather raw candidness I was touched and moved by Jezebel’s journey. Unlike the cliché, stereotypical ‘chick-lit’ fluffy romance between two people this novel contained a deeper layer of poignancy and expression. The vast personal journey of growth and

This book started with a bang! and I was immediately submerged to Jezebel's emotional struggle. Tormented by guilt and unbearable pain, Jezzy returned to her mother and sister, hoping that somehow she'll find peace at the Redemption Ranch, leaving her usual life in the city... for a while. But she never imagined her life with a new man. And as Jezzy found friendship with the gentle dark-mane stallion "The Reverend", she soon found love in the arms of Dr. Matthias Saunders. Her fiancé died in a fiery accident after a fight with her. The absolutely worst part is that she’s glad he’s dead…

This author creates a main female character that is one of the walking wounded. Jennifer was in a relationship with a man who was verbally abusive and she’s lost her self-confidence and belief in herself. He’d almost brainwashed her to the point of believing she’s unworthy. I don’t know about you, but I’ve met men like that before. The author must have known some, too, because the

Jezzy and Matt were amazing characters. Jezzy has definitely had a hard time. I grew attached to her and wanted her to find peace the entire time. Matt is a kick. He is not what you expect and he definitely knows how to get to Jezzy and to get what he wants without her knowing it. It is funny to see the interactions between these two characters. Jezzy wants to keep everyone at a distance and Matt won’t allow her to. I loved these characters. They definitely fit into this story and reached into ...more

An emotional, dramatic read!
Jezebel’s Wish is a compelling novel by AJ Nuest. It runs the gamut of being intense to lighthearted with an emphasis on intense. Jezebel is a tortured protagonist and her bristly personality pushes the reader’s tolerance at times. After a traumatic incident in Chicago, she goes home to her mother and sister to heal. Along comes Mattias Saunders with deep dimples and sea blue eyes and with patience greater than any woman has ever experienced, and the reader’s

I love the raw and rugged edge that’s brought to the table with Jezzy. The emotional struggle in dealing with her fiancés death sends her out of busy life in Chicago and with her mother and sister on their ranch in the country. Everyone grieves differently and this is true with Jezzy. Nuest shows all the mistakes, trials, and tribulations one goes through when grieving.

Tissues are necessary as Nuest captures every emotion and you’re sure to feel every one of them. Forget the cardboard cut-out c

Hi AJ,

Well, I've finished reading Jezebel's Wish, but I must confess for the first few chapters I had serious doubts I'd get through it--that's how much I disliked Jezzy at first. I didn't get her or her rudeness, and not knowing why she was being such a bitch made me want to skip pages and be done with the book as fast as I could.

Man, am I glad I didn't give up on her, or on you, or I'd have missed out on a beautiful love story! The male character, Matty, is wonderfully portrayed, and his genui

Yes, you're going to need the tissue box, but JEZEBEL'S WISH is well worth the tears!

Jezebel is a woman who is at her emotional limit. Having lived through a nightmare relationship with her former
fiance, she returns home broken -- and in her opinion -- incapable of being repaired. Then in walks Matty. I think
he is the perfect Beta male. (So ladies if you're tired of all the bossy Alpha males in romance, this is your story)
He knows exactly how to coax Jezzy from her self imposed hell, though her

What a lovely, lovely story.

Its not the easiest thing to bring the reader to tears and is the mark of a great storyteller IMO. This author did this more than once with some truly poignant moments.

Jezzy's journey was a hard, painful one but so rewarding when she managed to break through the abuse of her past and except at last she was worthy of love. Matty is such a good man, completely deserving of the title "hero", and just goes to prove, its not just the dark, brooding al

This story literally made me cry, made me laugh, made me fall in love with Matty and Jezzy. When the ending came, it was delivered perfectly...a perfect ending to a perfect story...but, of course, by then I didn't want it to end.

Be forewarned - you'll need your tissues! But if you love romance...if you appreciate a man who is not only strong and sexy (puts hand over heart!!), but steadfast...if you can identify with a woman who has been through the worst kind of tragedy yet finds the strength to

It's not easy to match strong characters and a strong conflict without one overwhelming the other. Ms Nuest finds the perfect line with Jezzy and Matty, balancing their heartbreaking conflict without burying their likability under over-the-top drama. I laughed and I cried as the author expertly shadowed Jezzy's growing connection to The Reverend with Matty's subtle easing of her heart. Nicely done.

Amazing! And that I personally know the author just makes it that much better. Jezebels' Wish is a fabulous story told entirely in the heroine's point of view. The hero is every woman's fantasy. Matty is patient understanding and willing to help Jezzy through what has to be the most difficult time of her life. The only problem is Jezzy must first forgive herself and work through her own feelings before she can truly love him in return.

This is what I'll call 'A Life Book'. It represents all aspects that many of us will, at some point, go through. Love, heartbreak and loss, anger, wondering where we went wrong or what we did wrong....therefore it's A Life Book.
The only spoiler I shall give you is just one word: Tissues.
Highly recommend!

I love how Ms. Nuest weaves flawed characters into her stories. Jezzy was bitter and broken at the beginning and goes through an amazing metamorphosis as the story unfolds. In fact, I liked all the characters, including The Reverend. This story is emotional, filled with sexual tension, and very satisfying to read.
