This was a fun read; it was a nice distraction at the end of a long day. I enjoyed the story, even though I wouldn’t agree with all the choices our characters made, it was still entertaining. Gwen was a good heroine, I liked her personality and that she stood up for herself. I also liked Alex and how deep down he was more of a traditional guy who knew the importance of marriage and family. He kind of makes a few mistakes along the way, but he does have good intentions. I thought Alex and Gwen ha...more
I finished this book in less than 24 hours. NOW what does that say?!?! I picked up this book looking for an author whose writing style is a little along the lines of Whitney Gaskell. Gwen's life is full of constant drama in Exes and Ohs. The ups and downs of love hit her pretty hard. But Beth Kendrick has allowed her to experience a happy ending. Hiliarious, not quite. Funny, yes. I was thoroughly entertained and pleased with this read.
I enjoyed the book, a few twists and turns before the ending. Definately chick-lit.
I read Second Time Around by Beth Kendrick and knew I wanted to read more by this author. Glad I picked this one up and I'll do more.

I thought the book was somewhat entertaining. It was pretty much like reading an episode of a soap opera - Dennis dumps Gwen, she's heart-broken...in walks Alex C. nice guy who takes her out for dinner and they have a great time. Then Gwen meets Leo, whose mother is Harmony (Alex C's ex) and discovers that Leo is Alex's child (only of couse Alex doesn't know).
With all the twists and turns, they manage to be civil with one another and become a family.

This was a fast read. Maybe I am just especially mushy and sensitive this time of the month, but I found this predictable story very touching. Not great literature, but entertaining nonetheless.
After reading "Saving Brian" and not quite liking it, I gave Foster a second chance as most of the reviews said it did not seem like her typical work. They were wrong! "Unexpected" had the same eye roll moments, where the main character is so unrealistic, the plot predictable and humor is far and few between. Foster is good at coming up with fresh and original story lines (although unrealistic) and a definite pro at writing sexual scenes. It's your modern day Harlequin romance novel so if that i...more

a perfect little picker-up when you are sick or need cheering -- was quite a fun read!
Poor Gwen!! Left by her fiancee the night of her wedding rehearsal.
Although she is a girl who seems down on her love life luck, Gwen is an intelligent and very likeable character. The things that happen to her in this book, you definitely do not wish on anyone else!! But she is a strong woman who knows what she wants

Very short read - finished it in a day. This book was SO funny. I had no idea when I decided to read it/read the back of the book how funny this would be.
It reminded me a lot of the movie "Prime". The characters find themselves in the most awkward predicament, but thankfully adjust to the new situation pretty quickly.
The ending is slightly fluffy, but that's to be expected with books like this. Loved this book and would definitely read it again on a plane or a beach!

This is the part where I’m supposed to brag about all my illustrious accomplishments, but honestly, I’d rather talk about my dogs and brag about some of the things I haven’t done:
I’ve never been to prison*, court-ordered rehab*, or splashed across the cover of a salacious weekly gossip tabloid with my ladybits on display**.
I’m a Leo, a middle child, and a formidable Trivial Pursuit opponent. I re...more
