THOUGHTS

A great novel, but I cringe and detest the ending because selfishly it’s not what I wanted. I felt that I went through so many diff...more

(3.5)Raven lives a sheltered life, which I think her downfall b/c she doesn’t see how manipulating Mizan is towards her. Raven is the daughter of a kingpin; she gets everything she wants w/out even asking. Her father soft on her b/c she is his first born. He tries to convince her Mizan is bad news, he knows he trouble from the start, but Raven won’t listen and gets sucked into his manipulating ways.

Mizan wants to be on top, where Raven’s father is now and he’ll do anything to get there like usin...more

This was a great story.. I mean love ..passion.. betrayel..Lust ..but at the end of the day I'm SHOCKED AND CONFUSED by a DADDY'S GIRL OF THE GAME ...would turn on and be so OBLIVIOUS to the goings on when faced with the situation.. I know the men want to shield their daughters but the way the STORY IS WRITTEN I find it a little unrealistic in this regard...plus why does the women have to die in the end...why couldn't there be another miracle well not miracle but just more apt killers ..especial...more

Hard to classify this but I think the romance genre fits it best as it is a hood novel with a love story only the talented Ashley Antoinette can dream up..As this is the fourth or fifth novel I have read from this author I can officially say I am a fan and I can honestly say her/her and JaQuavis's books are a cut above the rest of the street literature with their plot twists, I mean everytime you think you are cruising along someone dies, something happens, things drastically change! This tragic...more

If this book was written by Shakespere himself it would no doubt be a Tragedy. Oh yes this one is a tear jerker...

This book was about a 17yr old girl Raven who meets a street hustler named Mizan age 22. Mizan imo was the devil incarnate in fact he is the second character i have read this year that brought out deep hate i never knew i had. Good job Ms. Antoinet...more

Playing with fire you’re sure to get burned.
A Street novel! Moth to a Flame was exactly that, but this book was more than just a story of the ups and downs and wrong turns of a young girl who had it all. I, like so many other teenagers can relate to this book. It had so many heated moments from the beginning it was filled with page turning detail and never ending drama. New York Times bestselling author Ashley Antoinette captured all the obstacles a teen girl that’s trying to become women can...more

I loved this book. The things i really didn't like was the fact that Raven set her father up to be robbed. That broke my heart. I didn't like the relationship she had with Mitzan. It was horrible. It hurt to read how he treated Raven especially when she was pregnant.. I also did not like how she died at the end. After all the fighting shew had done it was heart broken to read the way her and Nikki died. I hope the author decides to make a part two to this story to tell about the life Morgan has...more

WOWWWWWWW! What can I say, one thing is for sure is that a hard head makes a soft A**! Raven was like so many of these young girls today, grown and hard headed. I was so disappointed in her on what she did to her father just to be with the ENEMY. I especially liked Ethic for being the man he was and always coming to the rescue, I think they were a good pair. I wont give to much away but this was definitely a Awesome read and I highly recommend this book, I could not put it down until I finished...more

Even though I don't like Raven because of all the things she's inflicted on the people around her and more so herself just because she was in love with Mizan (she betrayed her parents for a hustler she barely knows), this book was a page-turner. I read this book weeks ago and frequently scenes pop into my mind that really gets me thinking and I love it when books leave a lasting impression on me. This book's impression on me was positive because even though the story is tragic,it was well writte...more

OMG!!! THis book was great!!! I was actually in tears! I am just speechless, as to how someone could be so evil... This story had me very emotional , it took me through varied emotions and all the while I wanted to find out the next outcome on the next page. This was truel a page turner!! Alot of gansta style living but very real.Alot of dying and that was for sure.I would reccomend this book to any and everybody. Ashley Antoinette you are a true writer keep up the good work.

Wow this book was phenomenal. From beginning to end it held my interest. I am so very sad though the way it ended. It seemed Raven never had a full chance at life. It's like her life was stolen at such a young age. It goes to show you how you precious life can be stolen by one wrong decision. So many women get themselves caught in that same trap, they get infatuated by one guy and he turns out to be the devil. I really would have liked it to have ended much happier but hey, it was awesome still....more

I have read every Ashley and Jaquavis book to date, and I always find them to be a very good read. I also read this book in less than 2 days and found myself getting caught up in Raven's love affair...I was SOOOOOO rooting for her and Ethic! The reason why i rated it a 3 is because I felt this book had the same ending as Dirty Money, one of their first books. If I would not have already read the other book, I'm sure I would have given this book a higher rating.

When i first picked this book up and started to read i said to myself oh boy here goes another little girl lost. She has the perfect life with a good set of parents but instead of being a good girl she decides to follow the streets and get caught with up the first dude that pays her any attention and brings her best friend down with her. But as i continue to read the more hooked i became the best Ashley Antoinette book so far. Five stars all the way

I thought Raven was being very dumb and naive. She let a men (4 years older than her) to convince her to rob her own father, and in the process of doing that he got killed. Raven should have been smart enough to know that she was getting played the whole time. Mizan really didn't care about her, but he refused to let her go. He would rather kill her than to let her go on with her life. I was happy when Raven and Ezra got together. That was her best choice throughout the whole book.

The story hooked me and had me truly invested in the characters. I really liked the book for the most part; however, can the woman catch a break!!!…
I mean what a Freakin’ Disaster…Don’t lead me down such a Traaagic path only to end it in such a cruel way…I felt cheated.

There were so many chance's for this story to change for the better, one should've been taken....This book should teach you not to shelter your kids to much, because they'll end up idiots.

This book gave me the same vibe of The Coldest Winter Ever. But, it was a very good book I was kind of hoping for the happy ending. I wont spoil it for you goodread bloggers, so I am just going to say it ended a little unexpected. I actually think with a little editing this would be a great for young teenage girls. All in All I will give this book five stars.

This was a really decent read. In the beginning, it kind of put me in the mind of The Coldest Winter Ever with a little twist. I'm really picky about reading books that have errors in them and this book had quite a few. I was able to ignore them in the beginning, but towards the end, I was frustrated. There weren't many, but after building up, I just got a little annoyed (that's just me though). With all the things Raven went thru with Mizan, I surprisingly didn't find myself judging her for her...more

Finish this book in two days. It was so Good! but of course it was, It's by Ashley, and her& JaQuavis books are off the chain and If you haven't starting reading any of there books then you are seriously missing out!:) "Get on top of your Reading Game"...

Mizan was Evil as any low-down dirty man could get, Raven like most young "in love dumb girls" had to find out the hard way.

i loved loved loved this book. i would give it 10 stars if they were available. its about a young girl named Raven who feel like shes shes grown and wants to make grown up decisions about what she thinks is love . These decisions that may cause alot of hurt and grieve to more than herself. will she ever grow up and realize that what true love is?

This was somehow not my type of book. I couldn't stand the language - oftentimes it sounded simply ridiculous to me. Do people really talk that way? Raven annoyed the hell out of me - how stupid can you actually be? The ending was a poor choice I think. The whole book was tragic enough why end it on such a low note? Overall I just didn't like it much.

I started this book and then had to put it down and wait a couple of days and begin reading it again. Raven Is the daughter of a kingpin. She asks for nothing. She has everything she could every ask for. That is until she meets Mizan. Mizan is the stick up kid who wants Raven's Father's place. Raven's actions prove to be the answer to Mizans wants. While the book was good and quick to read, i hate books where the characters do not show any growth. I wanted to shake her and say "GET A GRIP!" Some...more
