When primary school teacher Sophie Harris inherits her Grandmother's house she is delighted and plans to renovate it as soon as she can. She employs the services of gorgeous gardener cum interior designer and decorator Andy Taylor, and falls head over heels for him. The attraction appears mutual, but things are not straightforward and Andy may be out of bounds.
Sophie would like a pond in the garden, a simple desire for most people but things take a bizarre twist when Andy unearths the remains of

Overall a very nice first book :) I bought it at waterstones on a signing day so my copy is signed :) I enjoyed the storyline, though it took me a while to read due to pressure to read books that friends had leant me and wanted back. I enjoyed Sophie's character and Andy seems like the perfect dream man, perhaps aimed at readers a little older than myself I still found the book relatable. Recommends it for: people who love mysteries, suspense, love stories
I really enjoyed Beneath the Daisies. I thought it was an excellent debut novel from Jayne-Marie Barker. I really liked that it was set in two different time periods and that we got to peak into one of the victim's thoughts through her journals, which ultimately leads us to the conclusion of what happened so many years ago. I really enjoyed the love story in the present. I thought this was a great novel and I look forward to reading more by Ms. Barker!

Let me start off by saying I love books like this. One of my favorite movies is one that has many similarities to this book. I read the description and just had to read it. With that being said I was not disappointed at all. It was a book full of mystery and intrigue.

It follows two storylines, one recent and set in current day and one in the past. A young woman, while digging a garden finds two skeletons. This book tells the sad story of who they were and why they were buried "beneath the daisie
