I received this as a giveaway book, and as other reviewers have said, was not able to get the first book of this trilogy. I decided to read this anyway, and was disappointed. The writing was over the top (not every sentence needs to have three adjectives in it!) Although I found the flowery writing style annoying, I kept at it, just to see where the plot was heading. It was predictable. I understand that this book is geared towards young readers (I'd say middle school, maybe a bit younger) but w...more

This book had me from the start! Claire finds out that the famous ornithologist, Robert Crawley, is in town at his retreat. Victor and Claire decide to try to walk to his house, because Claire wants to help him in his search. He's been searching for the Ivory-billed Woodpecker and has had no luck at all. Victor learns that he also has birds in his heart and he gets annoyed with her attitude about birds. I would love to have a garden like the one Robert Crawley has! Claire and Victor see a few un...more

I struggled through the first 30 pages. I got this book as a first reads giveaway. Maybe I didn't read enough but what I read so far was enough for me. Just not my kind of book. It's pretty much about a girl and her backyard adventures with wildlife. Like I mentioned I possibly gave up to early but it's just not working out. I like nature but I don't really have that much of an obsession with birds. Oh well. On to a murder mystery book. I will give this one to the library.

Love this second book in the Of The Wing trilogy! I recommend this book for ages 10 to adult - and especially to anyone who cares about birds and our environment. Cannot wait for book 3! Keep birds in your heart!

I won this book in a first reads giveaway it is the second book in the Of the Wing trilogy. I enjoyed the book, the plot continued to be fast paced which I liked, and it flowed nicely from the first book into the second book. I felt that there wasn't as much that went on in this book as there was in the fisrt one. I really like the characters in the book as I did in the fisrt one. I'm so happy that the book takes place right after the fist one ends. I'm giving this book three stars and I look fo...more

Lovely story. Perfect read for everyone from 7 to 70. I love how the authors love of nature comes through and you feel as if you are living the story right along side the characters.
