Kudos to Constance Sharper for creating a sequel that lives up to it's amazing predecessor! When it comes to sequels it's either a make or break depending on how strong the story was in the first book and if it's worth sticking with the series. The Airborne series lives up to the hype with it's amazing world building and characters.

Grounded is the second installment in the Airborne Sage by Constance Sharper and what a wonderful sequel it was! It was well written and I was completely engrossed in Avery's story once again!
The story starts off where the first one left off - at that huge cliffhanger I might add! Avery is back and school and Mason is hiding out in the forests once again trying to keep an eye out for the harpies that want her dead. Since there hasn't been any attacks in the last few weeks Mason lets Adalyn talk...more

The second book wrapped up a lot of the loose ends which is nice in case there is not a 3rd one. It also left saying a lot is to come in the lives of Avery & Mason so it seems that the story will continue in book 3. I will be on the lookout for it. In this 2nd part of the story Avery & Mason become a lot closer & Mason has to choose between the 2 woman who love him. He also now has to deal with the magic that he absorbed from Avery. Avery tries to teach Mason how to use the power/mag...more
The first book in the series, Airborne, I thought was ok and it had potential. I wasn't exactly blown away by it but I decided to give Grounded a chance anyway as i thought it may get better. Especially since it's under £2 on Amazon.
I am so glad I did. This book was excellent, it had a stronger more interesting plot line, the characters had more depth and there was a lot of time devoted to the relationship between the main characters. Although annoyingly Adalyn is still around for the majority...more

YES! YES! YES! YES! KNOCK OUT!
Constance Sharper
did it, she REALLY did it. Sharper surpassed every single preconceived notion of mid-series novels I have ever had and/or felt. She must have found the cure for the “mid-series blues” because there was NO sign of it here, I mean none, not even a hint. Beyond that, she created a second book with what I think is a stronger plot than the first.

(3.5 Stars). "Grounded" begins shortly after Avery returns to school. Her roommate and best friend, Leela has been acting strange and Avery is concerned that the thrall placed upon her by Mikhail is not totally gone. To make matters worse, Mason is going to Portland to see his fiance, Adalyn. Although Avery has been fighting her attraction to Mason, the news of his impending reunion with Adalyn the harpie is not welcomed.

If you want a story that will keep you on edge, with snark a little lust and a pn emotion not normally associated with harpies aka love. This books for you...
Avery and Mason are hiding in plain site she's back at school but something is up on more fronts than one. Mason called away by his ex-fiancé leaves a friend of hers to watch over Avery, however Patrick is not quite what one would expect or want in a protector. Things spiral out of control quickly.

Avery and Mason are back. Mikhael is after them, because they stole the magic he want to posses. We also get to meet Patrick. First, he tries to kill Avery in order to his debt to Adelyn, but he actually likes Avery. Blablabla. That wasn't such an interesting development.
They ultimately face Mikhael and it's a pretty hard battle.
Overall, I liked the book, but as you can see, there's not really much happening. Most of the time it's about the fight between Avery and Mason. She likes him, she envi...more

not bad for a sequel though Mason annoyed me a little in this one...gosh its called communication. He kinda sucks at it....Adalyn is still a bi--atch, no surprise there...i will probably read the next book.
Another amazing indie book done for the Airborne series. I did notice a few little errors in the book. Some concerning the size difference between Mason and Patrick's height. One part sounds like he's older and taller than Mason. Then later Patrick is said to be shorter and stockier. Make up your mind already. Hopefully we also get more backstory and development on Patrick's character next time. Also a few moments where past tense was used instead of the proper present tense (simply grammar). Ot...more
In Grounded, Avery returns back to school, soon Mason leaves her to head back to his ex-fiance to figure some stuff out but not before his ex-fiance sends a man named Patrick to "protect" her.
Avery's best friend ends up betraying her and Patrick tries to kill her, so she flees once again from her boarding school and rushes to the love of her life's side; Mason.
Together they find out what Mikhail and The Band are doing. They join forces with their other enemies to attempt to defeat Mikhail and hi...more

Thanks to Constance Sharper for an ARC copy of Grounded, sequel to Airborne. Avery and Mason, are they friends by circumstance or will the relationship develop into more than an awkward alliance? Just when I thought I could predict what would happen, twists and turns developed that were unexpected. Characters I didn't like became likable, but then who were the real enemies? Could Avery be *gasp* wrong? She makes choices, but are they the right ones? This is a fast paced story that makes for a goo...more

Another good book I love harpies!
This was a very good follow up to book 1. I enjoyed the character development that happened. Harpies are so different from the traditional supernatural creatures popular right now. It's nice to have something new and refreshing to read about! I'm also glad that Mason finally made a choice! It will ne very interesting to see what happens next! With the transfer of magic and a new leader!
Constance Sharper has done it again! (Kept me completely engrossed, that is.) Grounded is the sequel to Airborne, and in it we find Avery and Mason fighting not only sinister harpies, but also those who are trying to keep them apart. Grounded has as much, if not more, action as Airborne, and fans of Sharper definitely won’t be disappointed.
