American Men and Women
Though this book was written in the 80's, Ehrenreich's ideas are still very relevant today. She explores the social relations between men and women and suggests possible solutions to make our society more equitable and just. Many men and women are put off by feminism and turn their nose up to the idea, but this book let's the reader see that feminism helps both sexes and it benefits all of us in the end.

Reread part of this recently (Aug 2007) -- wow, what an excellent bit of cultural studies. Not just motivated by idle curiosity (gee, is Madonna subversive?) but dramatically relevant to just about everything in American political and intimate life. Nice going, Barb.
