Wow! No matter how many years go by, I will never forget this book. I would recommend it to....ANYONE!

Membaca buku ini bagaikan naik roller-coaster. Naik, turun, naik, turun lagi. Naik-turunnya kehidupan yang terjadi pada sebuah keluarga. Dan semuanya terjadi dengan cepat. Wew.

I planned to finish this book in a week. Who ever knew that I would finish it in a day!
Another great story from Danielle Steel. I cried over it from the start till the end of the novel. Touchy. Well... stories about broken families always touch me deeply. You guys really have to read this one.

This was my favorite Danielle Steel book. After many many DS books I finally got tired of her tedious style. But if you're into Danielle Steel, this is a must read.

When I was reading Danielle Steele, I loved her books.
I was obsessed with her books. Not I can't even pick up one of her books.

Very good book so far. Not your usual Danielle Steel story. I am enjoying the journey.

This book for me bought with it many memories of my childhood, a roller coaster of emotions flooded me on every single page. I spent the first part in awe, and the sadness followed with shock, surprise and down right grief. The horror's to which her characters faced still have me at edge finding myself living as first, Solange, then her child Hilary, I could hardly bare it. A book not for the light at heart. But a great book all the very same.
Danielle Steel out did herself with this one, an...more

Kaleidoscope revolves around three sisters, Hilary, Alexandra, and Megan, who were separated while they were still kids. In my opinion, the whole plot revolves around the life of Hilary and her depressing and solitary existence while the other two main characters – Alexandra and Megan – were just add-ons to make the story more cohesive. It was supposed to be touching and emotional but I do not find it powerful enough to move me to tears. I understand Hilary’s bitterness and anger, all that hate ...more

I think this is a new record, 419 pages in about 14 hours. I figured about 4-4.5 hours of reading time. This book was great also, another one of hers that just sucks you right in. This one was a little different. It wasn't as much as a love story as some of the others. It started out that way but it got very dark and depressing, the ending was good but it still left you hungry for more. You wanted to see what happened with the three sisters. This was made into a movie also, I'll have to try to g...more

How I Came To Read This Book: Gillian owned it I believe.

The Plot: I vaguely remember this book being about 3 sisters - I mostly remember the quiet, naive one that grew up in the mountains and how the oldest one had a hellacious life and some sort of Danielle Steelesque romance with the detective she hires to find her sisters.

The Good or Bad: Steel, like her contemporaries in the mass market genre, is a master at creating a gripping, fantastical portrayal of the everyday....more

I really enjoyed this book. Read it years back.

The plot is very interesting, about 3 sisters who are separated when little and each of them lives a very different life than the other, and when they grow up they find each other and its amazing to see how completely DIFFERENT they are. The book sort of shows the nature vs nurture debate.

The book is also in very simple language and easy to read. Keeps you glued till the end!

Read this book back in 9th grade...which was a loooong time ago...but it's the only Danielle Steel book I remember really liking. I picked up one of her recent ones Big Girl today at the store since I haven't read anything by her in years....read some reviews and now I'm afraid it was a waste of money....will give it a try just for kicks...as I think I out-grew this author back in my teens.

The book Kaleidoscope was one of the best books I have ever read. It was about a family of 3 girls that got separated, but only the oldest remembers their past. She is willing to do anything to find her 2 little sisters, and she does do everything she can.
You should read this book if you like just any good book. The book itself has a little sense of adventure and is sort of sad in it's own way. One thing I love about the book is how it goes through each persons view of their life ...more

such an outstanding novel with so much sincere and authentic feelings and emotions. yet the tremendous amount of tragedy inherent makes us
believe that despite all the calamities that life can sometimes so callously render upon us, life can take us towards a new path, a new beginning full of hope and happiness again...

If a book can make me cry for three days straight, I give it 5 stars. I'd never read any of her books bc all you ever hear is how smutty they are. This had some of that, but no more than Kite Runner or A Thousand Splendid Suns. Definitely not a feel good book, but heart wrenching and I couldn't put it down.

A consuming fast read that made me cry. Twice. Also, I caught editing problem (same time period referenced differently at different points in the book). Once. I don't usually catch those so it must have been glaring. Perfect for a lay sick day.

I LOVED THIS BOOK when i was 13. I read it on my gradma's deck in one day. no one could get me to stop reading it. I'm sure I wouldnt' give it four stars now but then wow I loved it. The TV movie w/ Jacqueline Smith stunk!

Wow.. This book was full of twists and some different things that Steel doesnt usually put in her books... Real eye openner! Altho I know some of these things happen in day to day you just dont think about them!

I am a big fan of Danielle Steel. Her books have a touch of realism throughout that makes it easy to read and to relate to the characters, no matter what the time period. I enjoyed this book very much

This is I think my favorite book written by her. With everything that happened to the girl in this story...I like how it was all captured...and yet she still grew up to be strong. Really good book!

Having never read a Danielle Steel before, I did not realize how racy this would be. The beginning portions were so horrific in my mind that I wanted to tell all my friends with children to make sure they had made the right provisions for them. The writing is great, but not exactly the leisurely story I thought of.

She ties everything off with a neat little bow. However, I think I am too much of a realist for this type of fiction. Such a silver lining or happy ending is a little hard for me...more

Read this to satisfy book club curiosity about the appeal of this fabulously successful author. Found lots of references to the appearance of shoes! Otherwise, remember little 20 years later.

Once you identify with the character it evokes in you emotions you did not realize you had. A very good style of narration, Steel takes you through her emotional challenge...

This was the first Danielle Steek book I read. I loved the story. It was so good! My mom had recommended it to me and I was hooked! An awesome story and I would read it again. :)

Since 1981, Ms. Steel has been a permanent fixture on the New York Times hardcover and paperback bestseller lists. In 1989, she was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for having at least one of her books on the Times bestseller list for 381 consecutive weeks. But Guinness was premature. The fact is that one or more of Ms. Steel's novels have been on the New York Times bestseller list for...more
