Her best friend Callie came back from camp boy-crazy and part of a whole new group of friends. When it's made clear that Callie is in the PGC (Popular Girls Club) and Katie is not invited to join, Katie suddenly feels incredibly ...more

I actually enjoyed this book much more than I was expecting- it was a lot like a cupcake itself... sweet, pretty, and maybe a little void of nutrition. :) The messages I liked in the book: entering middle school, she is not boy crazy and there's no romance to the book; dealt with some "teen angst"-y issues, like your friend deciding she likes other friends instead, with a light and positive tone; her relationship with her mom was solid; the main character is a nice strong girl who isn't wrapped ...more

Sesuai dengan judulnya, buku ini telah menjadi "obat" dengan caranya sendiri;
- Obat dalam mengatasi kebosanan menanti pesawat menuju Denpasar.
- Obat yang mempercepat waktu dalam perjalanan.
- Obat dikala stres.
- Obat dikala lapar.

This book was written by a descriptive, and fun author which made the book amazing! Katie and the Cupcake Cure by Coco Simon is the first book in the Cupcake Diaries series. This book is told through the perspective of Katie Brown, the main character. Katie has a lot ups and downs through middle school, especially one her first day. It all starts when her best friend through life, Callie, makes new friends with the PGC (Popular Girls Club) group and totally dumps Katie. But she claims to be stil ...more
I only gave it four stars because mentioning that vampire movie' meaning twilight was unnecessary since the girls who are going to read this are not old enough to read or watch twilight, a teen book and movie series. Also Maltese do not shed so Kaite would not have had fur on her when her mom picked her up. Other than those two points the first book in the cupcake diaries series was read really good.

Sixth-grader Katie Brown is excited about starting middle school until her best friend Callie ditches her on the first day of school in favor of her new summer camp "mean-girl" friends. On top of that, her locker won't open, her math teacher is mean, and she's terrible at volleyball in gym! But when Mia, Emma, and Alexis join her at her lunch table, Katie makes new friends who share her love of cupcakes. Together, can they raise more money for the PTA than the "Popular Girls Club" by selling the ...more

Katie has seen plenty of movies showing how friendships change drastically once people enter their middle school. But she believes that the friendship between Callie and her can never change because they have been friends for quite a long time. However, on the first day of her middle school her worst fears come true. Callie has come back from her summer camp changed and with a new set of friends. Her new friends call themselves the PGC (Popular Girls Group), a group in which Katie is not invited ...more
I thought this was a really sweet series (pun intended). This series starts off funny when the author first references teen movies ;were the protagonist in the movie ponders about what the first day off high school will be like. When books start off like this I have to roll my eyes. It was just a small setup where we see that the main character in the book will be going through similar situations. Katie is starting middle school and things have really changed: her best friend since birth is now ...more
Katie is excited about moving to middle school. She knows everything will be fine because she is going with the kids she went to elementary school with, including her best friend Callie.

But then, over the summer, Callie has made friends with a bunch of girls obsessed with fashion and being popular and seems to want nothing to do with Katie. Katie's locker also appears to be out to get her and she gets caught texting on her cellphone the first day of school. On top of it, it appears that Callie'
At First Sight: Katie wasn't the type of girl to worry about the beginning of middle school... until it happened and her best friend semi-dumped her at the bus stop on the first day of classes. And, as the day wore on, Katie felt more queasy as things began to go wrong: her friend kept ignoring her, her locker would never open, she was always late for class, etc.

The First day of Middle school would have been a complete flop if not for Mia, Alexis and Emma, the girls Katie meets at the bus and du
A sweet story about a sweet subject...Cupcakes!. Katie is just entering middle school, but she isn't worried...her best friend, Callie will be there just like forever. Only, the thing that Katie doesn't realize is that Callie's made new friends at sleepaway camp and doesn't have much time for her. Callie joined the PGC (Popular Girls Club) with Sydney, Maggie, and Bella. Callie's new friends are mean and bullies.

Fortunately, the first day of school holds some welcome surprises for Katie, too. S

Cute Middle school story about a girl named Katie and how the Cupcake Club began. This book would be a great help to those transitioning into Middle School. Katie has to deal with finding new friends after her best friend starts hanging out with a new crowd. She must juggle the old saying "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, the other is gold". I really liked the cupcake angle, especially the recipe for Upside Down Pineapple Cupcakes. Yum! It is a good theme for girls who like to ...more

It is about a girl, Katie, who is starting middle school and she did not expect anything to change from elementary school and was pretty relaxed about it. She thought her best friend will still be her best friend, kids from her school will be the same and nothing has changed. However, the first day of middle school was very different. Apparently over the summer everone got a fashion sense and her best friend has new best friends and is hanging out with a bunch of mean girls. Katie at first had a ...more

Actually, it was a lot better than I thought. I kind of want to read the second one. Definitely don't judge a book by it's cover!

I liked this book because I am starting middle school next year, and it goes to show you that friends may find other people, but you will always be able to find new ones. If you stay confident in yourself, you will be able to make new friends and have a good time!
I really liked 'Katie and the Cupcake Cure'. It was very fun and exciting, giving you a story of Katie's perspective of starting middle school.

I've read almost ALL the Cupcake Diaries books by Coco Simon, and loved every story. Each story is by a different girl from their 'Cupcake Club'. This book is great for girls from age 8-12.

Fun Reading!
I love this Book!!!!!! I would totally recommend this to any girls between the ages of 8 and 10. the genre is fiction and it is a happy kind of book. the books are my personal go to books when I"m feeling sad or I just want to feel happy. I have read all the books. I love how you can relate to all of the girls. Bottom line !READ THIS BOOK!
Cute middle-grade story about a girl that learns that sometimes things don't turn out the way we want them to, and if we give life a half-way chance they might turn out even better than we had planned. I thought it was a healthy read with solid relationships throughout the story and without the in-your-face revenge ending, the nice girls won - and they're still nice. I also enjoyed that Simon didn't villianize the friend that leaves the protagonist to be popular. She's still nice, even though sh ...more
I saw this book on sale at a local bookshop and thought it looked adorable and I liked the idea behind it. I wish I had had a Cupcake Club when I was in middle school! It has a few good messages for young readers that I thought were presented nicely. I enjoyed the sweet lightheartedness of it.
This book started with a little bit of a shock for Katie. Her best friend Callie ditched her to go hang out with the mean "popular girls" Sydney, Brenda (or Bella), and Cassie (or something else. I'm not entirely sure what her name is)and crated the PGC, the Popular Girls Club. Katie then gets together with a group of girls and they call themselves the Cupcake Club. But then the principal of the school announces that the first middle school dance. There will also be contest on who can create the ...more

This book is great. It was better that I thought and now I'm reading the entire series. Although the book is a bit short. I recomend this book for 4th graders - 5th grader and low 6th grade. Also I think this is more for a girl than a boy for many reasons. You soulf read this book, and I hope you'll like it. Trust me you'll enjoy it!

Such a cute and accessible series for girls. The first book battles new school and friendship issues. The Cupcake Club gives the new friends a sense of belonging. Many girls could see themselves in the diverse characters. And, there is a recipe for the pineapple upside-down cupcakes in the back. Yum! We are baking today.
Very good book!
Really liked the friendship parts and the parts when they baked the cupcakes
I also really liked how the author but a recipe for a pineapple upside down cake.
Really good book and can't wait to read #2

I thought Katie and the Cupcake Cure was a fun easy read.
I picked it because sounded good and I love cupcakes. The book is about a girl named Katie who is going into middle school. When her best friend makes new friends with the mean girls, Katie ends up making new friends who all love cupcakes. Her and her friends start a cupcake club and every Friday a different girl brings in cupcakes. Katie and her mother like to make up different cupcake flavors like Peanut Butter and Jelly and Pineapple u

Coco Simon always dreamed of opening a cupcake bakery, but she’s afraid she would eat all the profits. When she’s not daydreaming about cupcakes, Coco edits children’s books and has written close to 100 books for children, tweens, and young adults, which is a lot less than the number of cupcakes she’s eaten. Cupcake Diaries is the first time Coco has mixed her love of cupcakes with writing.
