Dark of Heart (The Youngbloods 0.5)
by
Lynn Viehl
Novella linked to her new Youngbloods series, Dark of Heart takes place alongside events in After Midnight but from different characters' perspective and focusing on a different plot. This was such a great prequel to the series. Truly, if I hadn't already owned the first book, this would have made me buy it and read it in a heart beat.
Kari and Collin and Seek were such great characters. I am actually a little sad that in the series they are really more secondary characters than they are main characters. I really think they would make wonderful main characters as well and I really hope we get to see a lot of them during the series. It would be a real shame if we didn't.

I read this the same day I finished After Midnight. Good story - love the characters! Well done Ms. Viehl.

Recommends it for:
anyone who likes sweet romance, and hot kiss scenes
Apparently, this isn't even about the main characters in this series (the Youngbloods), but in a way that makes me sad. I loved the characters in this story. Kari's sarcastic wit, her rapport with various teachers despite being always in trouble with them, and her unmistakable originality. I also loved Connor and Seek. The kiss scene was one of the...nicest...I've read in a long time. I was impressed ;)
And yay, another hot Connor to add to my list of hot Connors! hehe
