Novella linked to her new Youngbloods series, Dark of Heart takes place alongside events in After Midnight but from different characters' perspective and focusing on a different plot. Loved Kari and her man of mystery, Seek, who provided lots of complications on the trail of the big mystery of Lost Lake. A great read, and so far After Midnight is more than delivering on th...more

This was such a great prequel to the series. Truly, if I hadn't already owned the first book, this would have made me buy it and read it in a heart beat.

Kari and Collin and Seek were such great characters. I am actually a little sad that in the series they are really more secondary characters than they are main characters. Recommends it for: anyone who likes sweet romance, and hot kiss scenes
Apparently, this isn't even about the main characters in this series (the Youngbloods), but in a way that makes me sad. I loved the characters in this story. Kari's sarcastic wit, her rapport with various teachers despite being always in trouble with them, and her unmistakable originality. I also loved Connor and Seek. The kiss scene was one of the...nicest...I've read in a long time. I was impressed ;)

And yay, another hot Connor to add to my list of hot Connors! hehe

Yes, it took me a fair while...more
