The hilariosity continues as Georgia attempts to wade through her sham of a life and broken heartidness. Just when she begins to fear that she will have to become a lezzie, Georgia meets the Italian Stallion, Masimo, new lead singer of the Stiff Dylans. After three books, Away laughing on a fast camel takes readers back to Angus's roots with laugh out loud wit and charm.

In this installment, Georgia will have make you laugh till you cry with boy entrancer fiascos, mounting up to number 8, and wit...more

Robbie, the Sex God, is off to Kiwi-a-go-go land to snog sheep and write songs good for slitting one's wrists to, and Georgia is full of sadnosity, so much so that she even gets to #8 with Mark Big Gob (good grief!). But do not fear, the new Lurve God is on the horizon - half-Italian/half-American Masimo with a fancy purse in his hand. Let the hunt begin!

This novel is a contemporary realistic fiction, intended for the intermediate to the advanced age groups. It has made it amazon's customer favorite list. In this novel we revisit the Georgia after her boyfriend Robbie has left her to go to another country. Georgia is upset and dramatic as usual, that is until she meets Masimo. I gave this book four stars because it is quite amusing. There is humor throughout the novel and a play with words such as when Georgia said she couldn't sleep because sh...more

Genre: teenage angst, coming of age, relationships, etc
Summary: more confessions, same story, same characters. Oh, excuse me, there is a new character, Massimo, the new lead singer of the Stiff Dylans. Of course, he's creamy dreamy, of course Georgia falls madly in love, but whenever she is around him, all she can think of is...nothing. Her mind goes out the window. Fortunately, Dave the Laugh is there to coach her in the ways of getting a man. And of course, whenever they are together, they mus...more

I'm away laughing on a fast camel.

I rarely rate books like these a full five stars, but for Georgia Nicolson I'm willing to make an exception. Now, there's not a major life lesson to be learned, or a life-changing event that makes one sob till their boy entrancers fall out, but there is one thing that makes these books stand out, though - they are just so dang funny!

When I first picked up the series, I did because I saw the film, and sacre bleu, it was hilarious. When I read the first book, Angu...more

By the time I got to the end of this book - I will admit - I was starting to just skim some of the diary entries! It's not that the author isn't hilarious - she is! It's just that I'm pushing through all books in the series, and it's starting to get a little "pointless"; especially when it feels like there really isn't a good plot line going on (besides the Sex Maniac now). The funny thing is - I think this is the whole point of the series. To see how "pointless" all the little stuff is, when we...more

I have to say that two of my all time favourite moments of the series are contained within this book. For that reason alone, I think that this book is more than worht a read. Georgia's attempt to get over Robbie's departure to Kiwi-a-gogo land is fabulous. I love Georgia's misery, she's so dramatic with it. The only thing I love more is when she's hearing the call of the horn. Well whatever excuse makes you sleep at...more

This fifth installment in the hilarious Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series is yet another brilliant burst of "hilariosity", filled with classic teenage girl troubles, the suffix "-osity" that follows words like "wisdom" and "hilarious", British slang, and boys. Although Georgia thinks poorly of herself and is always putting herself down about her beauty, she still manages to attract numerous boys, and she often ends up in a "snog-fest". This annoys me greatly because there are girls who thin...more

I read the first two or three Georgia Nicolson books around the time they were first released - I think I was about 15 when the first one, Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging, came out. A while ago, Mandee at VeganYANerds asked me to recommend some British YA, and this was the series that immediately came to mind. Around the same time, I found this title in a charity shop for less than a quid, so I picked it up and stashed it on my bookshelf. This weekend, in search of a fast, funny read, I...more

This is such an incredibly funny and honest series of books. Even on the re-read I found myself laughing out loud at parts. It is intriguing that a heroine as self-centered as Georgia can be so endearing, but it's hard not to love her even when she is acting an utter prat. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quick read and an easy laugh.

This Book Is Amazing, You Can Really Relate To It, And She Is Just Like an Ordinary Girl , Like the Same Age As Me And My Friends, And It Is Soooo Funny, I Would Definately Give It Six Stars Out Of Five, All Of The Louise Rennisons Are Amazing, Especially Knocked Out By My Nunga Nunga's.

I checked this out from the library only to take a glance at the first page and realize I had already read it. These Georgia Nicolson books are like malted milk balls. They're delicious, but you forget how many you've eaten because they all taste the same.

Hilarious!

Georgia is a selfish brat yet I can't help laughing at her view about the world.

Indonesian translator has done a good job. Thanks to her, I use the words "departemen pipis nipis", "nunga-nunga", "put-put", "centil pentil" daily.

I really loved Book 5 even though I was kind of disappointed by the sudden turn of events (i.e. Masimo!). I am very clearly a huge fan of Dave the Laugh and I am frustrated that he and Georgia are just "mates." But the thing is, the writing is amazing. I love Louise Rennison. Even when things are not going well for Georgia, the story is a pleasure to read and I find myself still laughing out loud and cracking up along the way. And so much of what she writes about is so universal for girls. We've...more

I'm getting old, aren't I? I can tell this would be the sort of book I probably would have enjoyed if I were ten years younger, but, uh, I think I'm just too old now.

I think it's the style of the book and the language that threw me. For one thing, the book is written in a diary style (March 1st 1:15 PM, April 5th 12:15 AM and so on), but it's also written as though it's occurring at that moment. So is Georgia just whipping out her diary at every moment or what? How incredibly annoying. Furtherm...more

"Away laughing on a fast camel" is as hilarious as ever! This time Robbie the Sex God has left for Kiwi agogo land to snog sheep leaving Georgia all alone on her owney. Have no fear, another Sex God, or a Sex Meister, has landed! New to town and the new lead singer of the Stiff Dylans Masimo is both sexy and exotic. Georgia uses the power of her boy entrancers to get his attention, but can she really land a second sex god?

I found it quite upsetting that Georgia didn't seem interested in maintai...more

I listened to this in the car on a family trip and I think my husband was annoyed at how much time I spent laughing out loud. I continue to love Louise Rennison's books, especially audio versions, and the author herself narrated this one, which was different, but I loved it still.

I pray that I was never this kind of teenager, and that my friends with daughters never have to go through these things, but at the same time I appreciate how clean these books really are. There is no sex, even for the...more

This had to be the funniest one in the series, in my opinion.

Now that the Sex God has left for New Zealand, Georgia is heartbroken and vows to show full glaciosity to boys from now on. That is, until she hears about the new lead singer for the Stiff Dylans. Another Sex God, this time of Italian-American descent named Masimo. And he seems to be utterly gorgeous, from the descriptions in the book and the fact that all of the teenage girls are ogling him. So Georgia sets off on bagging Masimo. Wit...more

The sex god has flown off to 'kiwi-a-go-go' land, and Georgia is all alone. Well...all alone surrounded by fitties. Now that Robbie's gone, Georgia feels bored and heartbroken. But it doesn't take long before she explores her options with other boys. Dave the Laugh's got a new girlfriend named Rachel. But he continues to make Georgia's lips crave a snog and some lip-nibbling. And now there's Masimo, the new lead singer for The Stiff Dylans and an Italian hottie who makes Georgia go all jelloid.

In this volume of the diaries of Georgia Nicolson, her boyfriend has gone off to Kiwi-a-gogo land and Georgia is left with a big hole in her heart until she meets the new lead singer for the Stiff Dylan’s band. With Dave the Laugh as her Cosmic Horn advisor (and part-time snogging partner), Georgia sets out on quest to capture the heart of the half-Italian, half-American, and 100% gorgey Massimo.

Abounding with British slang, this hilarious diary will have readers in tears of laughter as they exp...more

Oh boy! The pairing of Molto Masimo and the Robin Reliant—Mr. Bean’s car nemesis—is so wacky and crazy. How bleak can these stories get? It’s perfect! I love reading about all of the love troubles in this book. Even Angus isn’t safe and has to fight for “Naomi against her new suitor, Manky… [Naomi’s new] bit of rougher.”

Favorite moment:

“So my eyes stayed shut. They were glued together. I kept trying to open my eyes but couldn’t. In sheer desperadoes I said, ‘Oh I love this one.’ And started wobb...more

Fun, funny, silly, and tres amusant, this fifth installment of the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson just keeps being the same amount of fun. I was going to say that it keeps getting better, but that's not exactly true. It gets a little bit more unbelievable, as apparently no matter how much weird stuff Georgia does or says, people in her life still seem to adore her, especially boys. It has been my experience that the average-looking, funny girl (no matter what the size of her nunga-nungas, does...more

Book Five in the fabulous Georgia Nicholson series definitely doesn't lack in the slapstick, laugh-out-loud, hilariousness department that we've come to expect from the quirky Brit Georgia. Poor Georgia has been left by her love, Robbie aka the Sex God as he heads to New Zealand to play with marsupials. Of course Georgia is very depressed and sad about this, taking it out on both her parents and her best friend Jas by moping and being obnoxious. Fortunately for everyone involved, she seems to fi...more

Just finished this installment in my Georgia Nicholson series re(re-re-re-re-re)-read (seriously, I've read this series A LOT). Hilarious, as ever. Beware, by the time you get this far in the series, you will be sorely tempted to start talking like Georgia. I was bored the other day and my mom asked me what I was up to and instead of saying "I'm bored" like a normal person my first instinct was to tell her I was "wandering lonely as a clud." Thankfully I remembered that she has never read these...more

Yes, I will admit it. I lurve Georgia. With her memorable phrases ("furry baby Jesus", anyone?) and outlandish antics, like shaving her eyebrows, I know when I pick up a Georgia book, I'm going to laugh. Out loud. That's why I was so disappointed with the first half of this one. I didn't laugh. Not once. Georgia was a sad, lonely girl pining for the Sex God who'd left for New Zealand. Frankly, I have little patience for characters that mope around and make everyone else miserable when they are m...more

It's been a long time since I read the previous 4 novels in this series, but I forgot just how hilarious they are. I was laughing out loud uncontrollably and Matt was getting sick of hearing my giggles erupt every 2 minutes. But I couldn't help it...Georgia is so silly, yet witty and has a good heart. I love all her made up words that describe the situation perfectly. I'm looking forward to reading the next 4 in the series. :)
