Georgia Nicolson is hilarious. This isn't the kind of funny that makes sense--it's actually the kind of hilarious that doesn't make sense, but yuo laugh anyway because it sounds funny. Um, that probably didn't come out right. But whatever; all you've got to know is that if you're looking for entertainment and a chortle of maniacal laughter, this is the series for you.

She's baaaaack!
The one and only, the fabbity of the fab Georgia Nicolson is back, this time with problems that she thought she had already solved. In preparation for the eagerly anticipated 8th book in Rennison's Georgia Nicolson series, I reread the first seven books over the weekend. Though I am getting a bit tired of Georgia's red-bottomosity, the books are hilarious--excellent summer reading.
Georgia is a self-centered girl who keeps a diary and struggles with her nutty family, less-than-sympathetic, but very silly friends, and her vicious cat. Meanwhile, she tries to minimize her enormous nose and to keep her basoomas in check ...more

I have to admit that over the years I had grown a little tired of Georgia Nicholson. Don't get me wrong, the description of Georgia shaving her eyebrows in Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging remains to funny that I stopped and read it aloud to friends this year at the Printer's Row book fair. The story had grown thin for me by the time I got to book 5 or 6; a third love interest had been added to the mix, a t...more

This book is called "Love is a many trousered thing" and this is a great book where it talks about Georgia Nicolson liking 3 boys at a time and she is really confused on who she really likes. She figures that she is still in love with Masimo where he had recently said no to her. Masimo thinks that he is also falling for her and he asks her to go out of town with him and she needs to think about it. Her ex comes back and wants to go back out with her and they go out on a coffee date and...more

Luuuuurve is a vair vair difficult thing. Firstly, the Sex God (Robbie) ran off to Kiwi-a-Gogo Land (New Zealand) to snog marsupials. Heartbreak #1. But then the Italian Stallion (Massimo) came onto the scene... only to tell Georgia that he wasn't ready to have a serious girlfriend again! But now that Massimo is ready to be Georgia's one and only, Robbie is back from New Zealand. And Dave the Laugh, Georgia's hornmeister and snogging partner, might be in love with her too. What to do? July 2, 2008 - Alright. I should probably actually read the whole thing, or I won't be able to follow the next book as well......... I hope the library has it!
UPDATE: Okay, I didn't read the whole thing. But I read the beginning and the end... (I was sitting in Borders, and I didn't want to be there all day. All I wanted to know what WHO GEORGIA WOULD PICK!!!) Now, I'm not sure what happened in the middle... but at the end, she was kissing Dave The Laugh, so I was very very ecstatic ab...more

Yessssss. Luuurved it, naturally, though Georgia really is quite stupid, isn't she? (I had to fight the urge to refer to her as a naff prat just then. Things to remember: I am not British. Nor am I 14.) Masimo, the Italian Stallion, does absolutely nothing for me, and I wish he did an equal amount of nothing for her. Alas.

i realize that i'm too old for these, but i SO do not care. louise rennison is completely hilarious, and i LOVE her, and whenever i'm in a truly foul mood i can spend a couple hours re-reading one of these and be all better.
i do have to say that this one hints that she might be getting a little bit lazy/tired of the series, because there are some definite inconsistencies here with the previous books. but as i'm really more concerned with her description and characterization of the nicolson...more

I enjoy the Georgia Nicholson books but tend to get them mixed up in terms of where one ends and the other begins. British teen Georgia Nicholson is still self-absorbed, simultaneously large ego-ed (when talking to her parents and her friends) and small ego-ed (when talking to boys), but hey, the reader *is* allegedly reading her diary. Which means, of course, you are depending on an untrustworthy narrator. Also, I think the character's homophobia (which was a BIG sticking point in the earlie...more

Okay, so I didn't read the entire thing. I skimmed it and read the end, which was enough at the time since there is no sign that Georgia and Dave are ever going to get together.
However, there are plenty of signs that Rennison is a very greedy woman and will prolong this series and the denial of love between Georgia and Dave until she is gray and senile. (Note: I think Rennison is a very funny, good writer, and I also think she is capable of creating another good series, which is all the more...more

Pretty good 8th book in the series, but is it just me or do the books seem to be shorter, not in pagination but in amount of time covered, this book was like what a week, 2 weeks in time? Also the ending on another cliff-hanger kind of thing, like the last book is annoying. Though it was far less annoying cause there was a little more resolution than the last one, which kind of pissed me off. Also I'm all for Dave the Laugh, too bad people sometimes don't realize who they should be with and go...more

Every woman over the age of 13.
I love LOVE Louise Rennison! This is the eigth book of Georgia Nicolson's confessions, and Rennison never gets less hysterical. I give these books to every woman I know and tell them to read them when they need a laugh. They are all riotously funny, and this newest edition did not dissapoint. Georgia is forever on the 'rack of luurve', but she makes everyone reading her confessions laugh and sympatize at the same time. A terrific series for all ladies who are old enough to know what the 'rac...more

The saga continues for Georgia Nicholson. DD and I have been reading these since we discovered them 4 or 5 years ago. Georgia is a YA/chicklit/bridgetjones type of gal. This installment had a lot of dithering about the Robbie (the Love God) and Massimo. I think she should just hurry up and snap up Dave the Laugh before he's gone! But I suppose I'm not really the age group being targeted and it would be fun if there were more of them. Definitely check out the early ones for a good YA read.

Yet another hilarious Georgia Nicolson book starring all the wonderful characters: Georgia, Jas, Rosie, Sven, Masimo, Robbie, Tom, Jools, Rollo, Dave the Laugh, Mabs, Ellen, Slim, Hawkeye, Miss Wilson, and Herr Kamyer. Georgia inspires a class camping trip, while Robbie is temporarily back from Kiwi-a-go-go land. Masimo has to go home to Italy, and he is now Georgia;s official(ish) boyfriend. But love IS a many-trousered thing, and Georgia is bound to get into some trouble...

I'm not proud, but I totally got hooked on the Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging books when I was in library school! They're kind of like the Bridget Jones's Diary books, but for teens. And you can read them in one sitting! This latest installment is as fluffy as the rest and I shudder to think what a real-life Georgia Nicholson would be like (she's awful!), but I still get a kick out of the humor and the glossary provided for Georgia's "American chums."

9th book of the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson. Very cute, and just as manically hilarious as the rest of the series. This one picks up right after she has the potential confrontation between Masimo and Robbie. I say potential because she runs off before anything can happen. Yet Dave the Laugh keeps popping up in her brain. 3.5 stars.

Every time I read one of these books I always ask myself, "why?". I still don't know the answer. It's a ok read but I know I have far out grown reading books like this and yet when a new one comes out I pick it up and read it. I can't even understand half the things that Georgia is going on about in the story. Then I find myself going around saying things like "fabby". Oh well, I know when book 9 comes out I'll read that too and start thinking to myself, "why?".
