Nathan doesn’t know it, but he is on the verge of becoming a vampire. More than that, he was born to be the mate of his people’s Queen, her Knight of Swords. As our story opens in 1890′s London, Nathan is being plagued in his nightmares by a gruesome vampire who is killing the young Lord’s past sexual conquests. Over and over, Nathan is forced to watch the vampire, Sebastian, as he kills the women and harvests their organs. Each time, he calls out for a woman named Juliet. We later learn, that’s ...more
This is the first in Curran-Ross' The Swords Series. Jack the Ripper isn't the only monster on the streets of London in the 1890s. Sebastian, a very powerful and sadistic vampire is obsessed with "his" Juliet.

Nineteenth century London, vampires, demons, a villan, a womanizer, a virgin, an obsession and a love destined to be from birth. All the makings of a historical paranormal romance, right? Well... while set in 1893 London, this is not a historical period piece. It has a very dark and somewha

Knight of Swords is a unique book. It's a genre-bender, which seem to always catch my eye, and in this case the genres being bended are paranormal romance and historical fiction, two of my perpetual favorites. This story is also unique in that it's told from the hero's point of view, even though, at first, he might not be the one we as readers might have chosen for a heroic role.

Nathan, Lord Valancourt, begins the story as a rake in the truest sense of the word. If it wears a skirt and walks on

Knight Of Swords (The Swords Series, #1)Knight Of Swords by Sara Curran-Ross

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Finished Knight of Swords and it is one of those books that I have to rate for my own enjoyment and which not be the same for others. This book had a new twist on vampires which I found enticing, it also had a good H & h and the story that went with it was great ...... for awhile. Then it became stupid (IMHO) the H & h had not spent more than 3-4 hours at most in each others company since one or both of them spent a lot of time
After weeks of waiting, I finally began on The Knight of Swords with much anticipation. Despite the range of genres I review, the paranormal will always be a personal favorite and after reading Sara’s The Devil You Know I knew I was in for a good read. I was far from disappointed.
Sara has a way with words, with the ability to weave a spell of language around me as I read. I can see the images clearly, as though a film is playing in my mind, a private viewing of the tales she tells.
I noticed one
KNIGHT OF SWORDS by Sara Currin-Ross is an exciting paranormal/fantasy set in 1893 England. The plot is easy to follow, will have you turning pages from the beginning to the last page. This is book one in "The Swords series".It will not only capture your interest it will also capture your heart.Cinderella meets her Prince Charming and becomes Sleeping Beauty while being part human, part vampire and a little Druid all in one great story. The characters are enduring, engaging, enchanting, determined, and ...more
I don't think I am going to do a full review of this book. It just wasn't my cup of tea, so to speak. There was something I didn't like about the writing style and that kept me from really enjoying the story. I think part of it was that it's told from the male point of view, but it wasn't just that... There was something that I just can't put my finger on that kept pulling me from the story. I think I was focused on the odd use of adjectives and I kept wanting to re-arrange words for some reason ...more

A different type of vampire tale. It was well written and a quick read that I enjoyed but I'm not sure I will read anymore in the series. With so many other books to read more like this one seems like a waste.

I think I'm going to try to read this, even if I think the chick on the cover looks like a 50-year-old witch desperately attempting to steal my soul.
My complete review can be found on my blog.
Juliet drove me nuts I thought she was very immature.
