Chet's response to an unexpected massage from Trinity embarrasses him, but he wants to see her again. Since he doesn't get any romance in real life, he's writing love stories on the side hoping to become a published author someday. So far he hasn't written a novel good enough to sell, but when he meets Trinity his muse not only returns, but his writing is stellar. Too bad ...more

I'm the author. I love this series. Here is the little pitch for the book. I think it's pretty cute. What do you think?

Chet is nervous around women, so he secretly writes romance novels on the side when he's not saving lives as an EMT or acting as a lonesome cowpoke in Tombstone. Trinity is a massage therapist who dresses in her Native American costume to compete in rodeos. She's also Chet's inspiration for his secret novel. She just doesn't know it…yet.

First Response is number three in Michelle Sutton’s Tombstone Series. It definitely lives up to the standard of the first two books in terms of its romance, character development and Christian theme. Trinity is a massage therapist and Chet, whom we’ve met in previous books, is an EMT. He’s hurt his back and needs treatment and thus the romance begins. The book is set in modern day Tombstone where ordinary citizens role play characters from the ‘wild west’ for the many tourists that visit. As in ...more

Michelle does not shy away from the HARD stuff, she dives right in with both feet! I loved reading Trinity and Chet's story! When I started this one I told Michelle that the first book in the series was my favorite, I have to rescind that and say that this is my favorite in the series!!! The way that Michelle weaved the story of Trinity and Chet and the story that Chet was writing was amazing! In this story Trinity and Chet struggled to keep their relationship pure, Michelle wrote this story ho ...more

I absolutely LOVED this book!!! My favorite out of the Tombstone Treasures series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Chet and Trinity's story. Getting to know them more. Watching their relationship unfold. The struggles they go through. I love how Michelle's books are real. She writes about real life struggles and throws her characters in the midst of them. I enjoyed seeing how Chet and Trinity's struggles played out. I immediately got pulled into their lives. Cared what happened to them. Michelle we ...more

Immediately entering this book, I knew it was going to explore moral and religious questions from the viewpoint of the recently 'saved'. What I didn't know was the way Sutton would go about it.

The lives of Sutton's characters develop in ways that make their dilemmas relevant to a Christian reader, recent or otherwise, while a little romance adds some spice to the mix of otherwise-interesting plot. There's a bit of easy-going charm in this world that is quite pleasing, but enough realism to keep

Another fabulous story by Michelle Sutton. Chet and Trinity make a wonderful pair - they both have less than stellar backgrounds, so they are predisposed to be understanding with each other about their pasts. However, that doesn't mean their relationship is easy by any means. A sometimes sweet, sometimes funny, sometimes make you wanna cry story about how God can help overcome securities, the mistakes of a broken past, and the sins of the present.
