What a fun novel! This is my first by Laurenston. Many of my friends have raved about her novels (and this series in particular), and now I can see why. It is a delight.

This book wasn't bad, but it felt like a lot of the same thing - sex, sex, and more sex.
Unlike the characters in this book, my world was not rocked by their constant world-rocking sex and physical attraction. The "romance" comprised mainly of the main characters' finding each other insanely hot and rip-your-clothes-off desirable. Zach Sheridan is more than stunned when he finds the girl he is looking for is a full body woman with attitude and no clue of what she is, a shifter. This was an unexpected find and a quick, easy read. Though the story was short, it didn't seemed rushed at all. I loved the characters and the interesting development of the story.
In a nutshell, Sara is raised human by a local pack alpha--never knowing shifters exist. As she matures, her aggression as a (pack) leader becomes a very dominant emotion in her life. I think the polite way to put it is that this was an "interesting take" on the werewolf theme.
I wanted to like Sara, but it was hard to. She was all over the place but I settled for just not liking her. Zach didn't even seem to like her, and I had to agree with him but then he went and fell in love with her, so I was left by myself on the not-liking front.
Lots of disrespectful chit-chat that is more annoying than it is cute. Lots of rough-ness, especially rough sex. It felt out...more

I really, really disliked Sara! I don´t have a problem with alpha females in general, but she was over the top. Too harsh and too b!tchy (no pun intended) for my taste. I liked Zach a little better but, by the end of the book, I wasn´t so sure if he truly loved Sara. I don´t know, something about them didn´t "click" with me, and that´s a problem when it comes to a romance book.

Bloodthirsty, but full of fun and alpha shifting pnr yumminess. This one wont be for everyone- she says "bitch". alot.- but I'm def. sold on this author! :P

Eh. There are reasons I'm not a huge PNR fan, and this book contains more than a couple of those reasons. Some PNR kicks it up a notch and actually gives us a bit of plot and character development along with the sexy times. And some doesn't. This book falls into the latter.
I find it to be a major cop out when characters are so crazy sexually attracted to each other because of their shifter half, even thought they don't know each other and/or can't stand each other. So they don't know squat about...more

What a surprise Pack Challenge was, I thought I would kinda like it but I ended up liking it a lot. It won’t be for everyone, because the females are a little bit unrefined, and the story is far from spectacular. I did laugh though and I came to a realization, that I really enjoy my h/h unrefined (by unrefined I mean; brass, bold, and without polish).

I simply loved this book, it has just about anything you want, friends, shape shifters, action, blood, humor, Hot Sex and a storyline to boot.. If you like your erotic with not as much sex as most this one is for you..

ROFL funny, just as highly entertaining and enjoyable as the author's "Pride" series (also about shifters).
In Pack Challenge, Sara is minding her own business, working at the chopper (motorcycle) shop & hanging out with her two outrageously funny friends.
Once Zach and his biker pals roar into town on their motorcycles, Sara's life is turned upside down. Hilarity ensues, along with a very good plot. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Pack Challenge was such a fun read! We are dropped into Sara Morrighan's life and once Zach Sheridan arrives, you wish you could roll around in it with him forever.
Shelly's writing was spot on. Sara and her girl friends are a riot, Zach and his shifter friends are hot and the romance between Zach and Sara isn't rushed much.
I am anxious to read Miki's book, Go Fetch!. I look forward to reading more of this series and more written by Shelly Laurenston.

I picked this up as a freebie a while back, started reading as just a random 'I need to read some of these freebies cluttering my kindle'. Boy am I glad I did! I loved this one. It's got the hot, shifters, little bit of mystery (not a whole lot), and the women. These are not your damsel in distress women, these are badass, in your face, I can take care of myself women. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud reading this book! The stuff that came out of these characters mouths and things they thought were hilarious at times!
All the characters were great, well developed. Tons of dialogue which I like. This was a humorous, happy shapeshifter book. Not your typical serious and angsty paranormal romance. I delved into Shelly Laurenston's "Pack Challenge" in my search for a humorous paranormal romance. I quickly learned that it wasn't what I was looking for. Yes, there was a sense of humor, but it wasn't enough to overcome all of the negatives.

I have been meaning to read another wolf series lately...and clearly, I chose well.

Have you ever sat down with a bag of chips and then, several hours later, the bag is empty and you have no idea how that happened? That is what reading Pack Challenge is like. I sat down with my Kindle to read this book, thinking, oh this will be fun, I've heard good things about this book, and then I looked up and the afternoon was gone and the book was over. I've been in a reading doldrums of late, the books I've been reading ending up leaving me dissatisfied and just sort of "Meh," so I was really hoping Pack Challenge would shake that up a bit for me and break the ennui. I was pleasantly surprised. While lacking the depth of character development and plot of some of the masters of the paranormal romance genre, I enjoyed my first Laurenston book (it won't be my last), and both the world and shape shifters in it.
