Bark's Book Nonsense
If you are looking for a pick-me-up kind of book and don't mind a little silliness this is the one to find! I absolutely loved this story about a whimsical fairy princess who is destined to marry a human in order to save her race from possible extinction.

Splendor, the fairy princess of Pillywiggin, is thrilled to learn from her Father that Jourdian, the Duke she has been admiring & watching over since childhood, is the chosen human to sire the first half human/half faery child. All Jourdian

This book is the reason I love to read romances. It is a heady aroma of words. Rebecca Paisley takes a simple idea that has been done before. This time it is about two adults, one human and one a fairy, that melt with need. Splendor, what a name(!), for she is indeed a splendor. Patient, giving and funny is part of her nature and you love her for it. Jourdian Amberville is the 'Trinity' and our hero. Handsome in looks with a wealth that is unlimited but a personality that reminds me of a well; h ...more

This was recommended to me via Twitter. I struggled to get into this book during the first few chapters. It was pretty over-the-top campy. Once I accepted the fact that it was going to be a slapstick comedy, I fell into it. The romance was very well done. I truly enjoyed it. Plus, the antics of the heroine, her sister and the other cast of characters were very entertaining. An excellent read.

You know how there are books that don't have enough dialogue? Well, this one has too much. I feel like I was talked to to death. My ears actually hurt. Otherwise an entertaining read.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

What a truly wonderful book. I laughed so hard so many times and I really, really, really believe this book should be on audible and should be narrated by Susan Duerden. A stupendous book and a marvelous narrator.

Splendor was absolutely wonderful (a fairy with hair down to her ankles) and Jourdain was simply made for her (a Duke afraid to love). I had to laugh every time she called him “My Grace.” And I just loved the swan, the hog, the donkey, the seal, the rooster, t

What a fun read!! Where has this author been hiding?! This was so good.. So so good.. It's got a grumpy duke, a fairy princess, a great best friend, a misunderstood sister, a butler losing his mind, a shape-shifting pet, fairy dust, fairy magic, and wishes on stars.
It's nonstop chaos and madness and I loved every minute of it.
If you're looking for out-loud laughter then this is the book for you!
Dawn ♥ romance
I couldn't get into this book ... it seemed more like a cartoon than a romance. Fairy princess Splendor must marry human Duke Jourdain and procreate to make fairy kingdom stronger ... I quit after 85 pages.

I finally ordered and read this one and Loved it! Splendor's innocence and the way she held it even through everything she experienced was so well written. I felt her pain when she had to leave Jourdian and his when he realized he loved her. Harmony and Emil were so funny to follow and I loved how they both had the emotions of jealousy and love at the same time so like normal humans. I especially loved the Christmas gift scene with the gifts that were given and how perfect they were. I will defi ...more

A Basket of Wishes by Rebecca Paisley

A GREAT read. Funny, whimsical and so romantic. A absolute keeper!!!

The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

"I AM CALLED SPLENDOR WHILE I AM WITH YOU I WILL DO WHATEVER YOU DESIRE."

Clad only in her ankle-length copper tresses, Splendor lay atop the twelfth Duke of Heathcourte, who was speechless at having been thrown by his hor

I enjoy fantasy worlds and wacky hijinks as much as the next person, but they have to be executed properly in order for them to flow through the story without pulling the reader out of it. Rebecca Paisley did not accomplish this. Nothing about this story felt natural. Every interaction or action felt forced and predictable. Some of it was so ridiculous I was laughing in disbelief. I couldn't believe the author had seriously written such nonsense with a straight face.

I tried to push past the out

So if you look at my other books, you'll find that this type of book isn't found very often in my repertoire...however, this book taught me NOT to judge a book by its cover. I received it as an advance copy - and it did not have a cover. I read it and loved it...loaning it to so many friends that eventually, I was left without a copy. When I went to by a new one, I found this - this ROMANCE novel with scantily dressed people...not usually my cup of tea. And yet, this book goes down as one of my ...more

This is a fairytale, original, sweet, very simple story which made me laugh and left me with a wonderful feeling.
HERO is a Leader, a cold, succesful Duke in search of a dutiful wife but not wanting to fall in love, when he encounters a fairie who fills his life with magic.
SCENES/CONTENT: few/mild

Cute story, but honestly way too much nakedness going on. It was distracting and a bit detracting.

Fairies belong in all cheesy romance novels. Too cute. I love this book! =)

I wanted to write things ever since I learned to write my name.
