Lovely...yet sad. This modern day Thorn Birds was a great read. It was filled with complex and sympathic and well developed characters placed in a very difficult situation. As the story unfolds in a very realistic way I was transported to Italy to Chicago and to Boston. I was sad to reach the end yet gratified by the ending.
