Book 1: Maid for the Billionaire
Dominic Corisi knew instantly that Abigail Dartley was just the distraction he was looking for, especially since having her took a bit more persuading than he was used to. So when business forces him to fly to China, he decides to take her with him, but on his terms. No promises. No complications. Just sex.

Abby has alwa

It started off well. An angry billionaire heads home to Boston to deal with the death of the father he hated. He enters his Brownstone that he never goes to and sees the maid. Though she is not really the maid, she is filling in for her sister who is sick. The angry billionaire lusts after the stand-in maid and the maid says, "ew creep, get off me" but secretly she is seriously attracted to him.

Angry billionaire offers to pay her to stay with him she says, "ew creep, no". He finds her anyway and

AMAZING!!!

I'm actually very happy to have read this book!!!
Yes, I know the plot is very common, a billionaire falling in love to a normal woman. But that is not the reason why I admire this story a lot.

This story made me laugh and be proud to be a woman.

I love, love, love Abby here. She is just a teacher but her personality is really big and she is I guess the most smart lead woman character I've ever met. (or read). lol!.
She's full of love and positivity even though she's been through a lot. Sh

The most awful book I've read . Update IT A SERIES ? ........... oh God !

I got this book free on Amazon.

So I was expecting a fairly ordinary book (cynical of me I know)

However I am impressed.

This book reads like a Mills and Boon or Harlequin book. I was really impressed because I have read worse mills and boon book and this is self published without the benefit of an editor and copy editor.

Ive read some reviews that crap on about it being 'not realistic' my answer to them is HELLO, Wakey Wakey - its a romance story about a maid and a billionaire.

Has anyone EVER hear

I am sorry but I thought this book was AWFUL!!! Thank God, it was free! I struggled to finish it because I don't like to start books and not finish them. It was so far-fetched and the writing was so cheesy at times it made me fall out of my beach chair laughing. There were points when I felt like I would hurl-- when the heroine so happens to speak the language of the country they go to and single handily saves the man's company from ruin although he is supposedly a shrewd billionaire business ma ...more

Oh dear, this started well but descended into nonsense at the half way point. It didn't recover.

The plot about how they meet and her involvement in his big Chinese deal was well plotted and involved me really well. Unfortunately it went downhill at the point where they started declaring their undying love for one another after spending less than a week together - and most of that time they were horizontal.

Sometimes insta love is plausible, sometimes it's not. This was a 'not' for me. The chemist

The book started really fine, a dominating and angry billionaire who become interested to his supposed maid.
But from 50% of the book on it really went downhill with so many cliches!!!
I could understand his interest for her, his invitation for the reading of his father will and even the trip to China.
But suddenly it became to much!!

There are freebies, and then there are "thank you Jesus I got this free". This story would be the latter. If it's not a Harlequin Presents, it should be! Filled the the ridiculous, the corny and the "Are you kidding me?!" moments that make you want to scream with laughter (and not in a good way), this was, just plain and simply, awful.

Props for entertaining me, if nothing else.

Maid for the Billionaire by Ruth Cardello
Money sure can't buy happiness. Dominic Corisi was proof of that. He spent most of his life gaining fortune after being disinherited and now that he was about to pounce on his father...the old guy up and died. He wasn't mourning his father, only the loss of his revenge. Running off to his home in Boston that he never went to, with all his mansions all over the world why bother. Seems going to the old Brownstone was about to change his life...for good and

I started out really enjoying this story.

I liked the initial flirtation and lust that immediately sprung into action when the both of them met.

Unfortunately it went down hill after that for me. Still a good, smooth read, but I ended up severing my connection with the characters by around 50%. I didn't understand why Dominic would want a stranger at the reading of his fathers will - yes, it was explained that he wanted a yummy distraction to keep his mind of the event - but I just didn't get it

So.....yeah.

The timeline for this romance is ludicrous. Our main characters, Dominic and Abby, meet when Abby steps in to cover for her sister as Dom's maid. The next morning she's dolled up and accompanying him to the reading of his father's will. A day later she's on a plane with Dom to China. WHAT?

I get the whole falling in love at first sight thing, but traveling with that person to another country knowing that he's a hot head? IDK that's just really unrealistic to me.

Take time out of the eq

I picked this book while looking for some easy reading to help me fall asleep. Boy, was that a mistake! I could not let go of the story until I had read the very last page.
Ruth Cardello is an amazing writer. She connects with the reader in a way that not many new authors do. I found the main characters to be very well developed and utterly interesting. I even like the villain (Stephan), as she has hinted that there is more to his desire to destroy Dominic than mere professional rivalry.

My amazon review

Not bad, sometimes you see a lot of good reviews and then when you read it's nothing like the raving reviews but I can honestly say it wasn't bad for me. I have to say though I was a little disappointed because I thought there would be 3 stories in one, as that's what's advertise, but it's actually book 1, book 2 & 3 are pending.

Dominic is the poor little rich boy with family issues, Abby is the glue that is keeping her little small family together. At a chance meeting where

Dominic Corisi is a self-made billionaire who has family issues with his father, sister and mother that I won’t go into here because I don’t want to spoil the read for you; suffice it to say that there’s a lot of pain there. He returns to Boston for the reading of his father’s will.

Dominic meets Abigail Dartley, a school teacher, who is filling in for her sister, Lil (who’s home sick) at her job cleaning Dominic’s brownstone. There’s an instant attraction between them; Dominic is arrogant and Ab

Found this as a freebie on Amazon and so I checked it out. Didn't expect much from it but was pleasantly surprised by this self published story.

The author was able to capture the essence of the characters very well and even the development and expansion of the characters does not end at the beginning of the novel. Cardello develops them throughout the story, especially that of Dominic's character (the billionaire). Of course the story is not going to be realistic but it's simply a fantasy. And

Maid for the Billionaire by Ruth Cardello

I really liked this story. It’s a contemporary romance with lots of humor about two strong people who didn’t know what they were missing in their lives until they found each other.

Abby is a middle school teacher who teaches English to non-native speakers. She’s a tough little cookie who takes no guff and holds her own. Dominic is a self made man. A guy that has lots of money and the attitude that stereotypically is associated with a man of power. He’s no

Reacção da minha mãe quando vê o livro:
"Só tu é que não arranjas um milionário!" - Exactamente isto que eu penso quando vejo estes livros! Calha a todas menos a mim!

“Apaixonada por um milionário” começa de forma suave, vertiginosa e de repente ficamos apaixonadas por Abby e a sua personalidade caridosa, muitas vezes respondendo a Dominic à letra e a pedir para ele enfiar coisas por um sítio acima. Normalmente é este tipo de personalidade que o leitor gosta: uma mulher que consegue bat

I really enjoyed this book, it was just what I needed to brighten my day. I was in the mood to read a pleasant little romance and that is exactly what I got...plus more. The intrusion of a complex business deal, where no one knew for sure who was friend, who was enemy, what was going on behind the scenes, added a more interesting story than your average romance. The story was not realistic, but a cute modern fairy tale about a Cinderella who decides to rise above her fears and need for control, ...more

This book was not what I expected at all. It was playful with romance, intrigue, family and kept my interest from beginning to end albeit with an unexpected story line. I love the characters of Dominic and Abby when they interacted as a couple. There were the requesite happily ever after and I was pleased to see the story would continue in book 2 - For Love or Legacy which is next on my TBR pile. Cardello was a new author for me and I look forward to reading other books by her.

It was good, but it wasn't steamy enough for me. The storyline was pretty crazy for the timeline that it all fell into and the ending...... well lets just say I found it rather over the top cheesy.
But for a mindless read on a sleepy afternoon it did entertain me.
Also I was intrigued enought to want to know what is going to happen in the following books.

I really need to stop reading this nonsense.
The male character was bland, controlling and crazy, and I got sick of his eyes 'darkening'.
The female character was insouciant and I couldn't help but like her, even if she completely changed character in less than a week.
The sex scenes were weirdly clinical.
Nope, nope, nope.
Pix
I found a few things wrong with this:

A billionaire of IT needs ex special forces as bodyguards?? Seriously ? Major daddy issues and the "caveman" do as I say, when I demand.

Then we have the school teacher who will preach to kids that you don't go with strangers yet she goes off to China with a man she's known a day!

Dominic has a full security check done on her and her sister but half way through States if she even has a sister or if Abby is her real name!

It's full of cliches, corny and cringe wo

Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York--then came full circle and moved back to Rhode Island. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather a ...more
