I have read a number of Almaas books and I find this one as well as the others, to be insightful and practical. He uses inquiry to explore self and existence in general although he has fine tuned his method in what he calls the Diamond approach. I find his insights helpful and inspirational although I dont practice in the way he is suggesting but I do think that it is quite compatible with Buddhist and other meditative methods. This book goes into great (some might argued too great) detail about the role of inquiry in the spiritual process. I found it immensely useful and very inspiring. It is a thick book but it's one of those that could be read at any point and be useful as the chapters are mainly self-contained explorations that continue the thread of the whole.
