I love historical novels set during World War II and I love the writing team of Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss. And of course, you can’t go wrong with a Love Finds You story. All these factors come together to make for a story that took me back to a time and place when the world was in turmoil, but life in America was simpler and patriotism was strong. Rosalie was a strong and loyal woman dealing with the death of her fiancé on the battlefield and Kenny was a man seeking his purpose, a man wit...more

My first tour ever with LitFuse was a Love Finds You novel by none other than two fabulous authors: Tricia Goyer and Ocienna Fleiss. They are absolutely the perfect combination for co-authors. These talented women write as one and know what will capture their readers' hearts!

I have been drooling over this book ever since I saw the cover--it's so Rosie-esque and wonderful. I will admit that, along with seeing who the authors were, the cover was one of the reasons I really wanted to read this one. You see, my grandmother worked in a Boeing plant during the Korean War, as a riveter. I feel a special pull to read stories like this because it makes me feel closer to her. And I adore reading books about the women who worked so hard for the war effort on the homefront.

Rosalie’s childhood dream was falling in love and having the kind of marriage and family her father, a reporter whose work consumed his life, could never seem to give his own family. When war comes and Rosalie’s brother dies at Pearl Harbor, she decides that her best friend, Vic, would make a good husband. But she puts off marrying him until his return, hoping to convince herself that she loves him enough. However, Vic never comes home, and consumed with guilt over promising to marry a man good...more
A nice easy to read story, that took me forever to read because of school...lol. This story takes place during one of my favorite time periods WWII. The author actually makes the story authentic by having the characters talk as they did back then, which made for some lines to sound cheesy, but have you heard the way they used to talk, doll? Rosie, who rivets at the Boeing plant, meets Kenny, a news reporter. After Kenny does an article on what happens at the Boeing plants, Rosie starts becoming...more
This is a historical novel that takes place during World War II. It's about a woman dealing with the death of her fiance who died fighting in the war. She tries to hide her hurt and feelings behind her work building war plains at Boeing. Rosalie meets a hansom reporter named Kenny and her feelings start to flair. Will she let love back in or will she chose to not let hurt in again.

Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington by Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss is a poignant WWII romance. Rosalie Madison's fiance was killed in the war, so she throws herself into helping build the fast B-17 planes to help dull the pain and to hide her secret that she wasn't truly in love with the young man. When Kenny Davenport bumps into her, literally, she is incensed at the newspaper writer's seeming rudeness. Her anger quickly turns to embarrassment when the two are labeled "lovebirds"...more
I have been encouraged to read books by Tricia Goyer so when this became available at the library, I checked it out. Imagine my surprise when I found out it took place in Seattle, WA, where I had been visiting just days before. The author did a good job describing the location, using streets and landmarks and it was fun to relive my time there.
I enjoyed learning more about the WW II era and Rosie the Riveter. The love story was a little weak, with the characters not really knowing what they want...more

I'm debating between a 3 and a 3.5 on this book. I found it really slow moving and didn't feel like I really got pulled into the book until the end. While I was smiling by the end of the book and pleased for Rosalie and Kenny, I wasn't as invested in their story as I would have liked. The issues keeping them apart were pretty small, and didn't totally convince me. I came to appreciate Kenny's personal issues more so at the end of the book, but I wished I'd known more about Rosalie's upbringing a...more
When Rosalie fiancee failed to return from WW2, she was sad, but also relieved. She wasn't sure she loved him enough to commit. In a strange twist of coincidences she meets one man she that turns her stomach because of his profession, a reporter by the name of Kenny Davenport. Not trusting the true side of Kenny, Rosalie is sure to avoid becoming Rosie the Riveter at all costs. But will it cost her true love as well and can she get over the grief of knowing she never told Vic the truth?

I had a hard time putting this book down. It kept me up way too late on several evenings, leaving me constantly on the edge of my seat. I love the era in which this story is set. An enthralling World War 11 romance, Love Finds You in Victory Heights made my heart smile big. The story is scattered with lingo from that time period. Phrases and words like "fiddlesticks", "hotsy totsy", "lollygagging", and "sassafras", only made the story that much more real and fun to read. Goyer and Fleiss develop...more
I loved how this book transported me back to the World War II era! There were various historical details, from the setting to the characters’ dress and speech, which added to my enjoyment of the book. I certainly had fun traveling back in time!
That being said, though, I found that the story took me longer to read than I would have liked. Some emotions and situations seemed to be stretched out more than was necessary. And while I think I need to remember that we all tend to create more drama in o...more

Summerside Press publishes some great faith-based romances and Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss are two terrific authors I've been introduced to through Summeride's Love Finds You collection. Their second collaboration, Love Finds You in Victory Heights, Washington, is a great addition to any Christian romance lovers library. Not only is the cover beautiful but the story as well.

Can I say it again? Summerside Press is awesome and at it again. So far almost every Christian Historical that I have read from these guys has just about sucked me in until I was able to accomplish the whirlwind of reading through another romantic adventure (even with the AppleBlossom distractions). Last year or so I was suppose to review Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana but it never arrived and I was pretty close to devestated as far as book expectations go. So when Love Finds You in...more
Tricia Goyer is one of my favorite Christian authors, so when I had the opportunity to read another book from her, I jumped at it. I was not disappointed either.
This book was fantastic!
I really loved this collaboration between Tricia and Oceanna, to come up with some lovable characters that you find yourself attached to. I couldn't wait to get the book in my hands and read on about Rosie the Riveter and the reporter, Kenny. They were a match made in heaven, truly!

I am a sucker for a good historical fiction novel . . . ESPECIALLY one that is set in the WWII era. For some reason, that time period just 'speaks' to me.
For me, this book had it all: smart, sassy heroine, who actually GROWS and changes; dreamy, yet down-to-earth hero who ALSO grows and changes . . . a stellar cast of 'lesser players', romance, faith/trust in God, and a setting I'm quite familiar with, with a short scene even set in my own hometown!

I enjoy Tricia Goyer's World War II novels and was glad to discover this one in the Love Finds You series. Some sections were a little slow moving to me, but a very good read overall. Good period detail, spiritual themes, and tender romance.

The story is sweet, the romance charming, and the supporting characters are a kick. Wartime Seattle, especially the neighborhood of Victory Heights, comes to life, and I seriously want to take swing-dancing lessons after reading about Kenny and Rosalie jitterbugging at the Igloo. I'm impressed with Tricia and Ocieanna's ability to tell a good story, supported but never overpowered by solid research. This story was a lot of fun.

This was good, but not as good as I was hoping. I want to really love this Love Finds You series, but this is the second one I've read and I've haven't just "loved" either one. This one was good, but it seems like you could really tell that it was written by two authors. The 40's "speak" got more pronounced in areas and chapters, and then all but disappeared in others. Still, a good story and a nice enjoyable read.
Love Finds You In Victory Heights, Washington was so true to the WWII era in both dialogue and details that you really felt immersed in the time period. It was delightful to get a feel of what it might have been like to be involved in supporting the war effort at home in the States. I enjoyed most of the story very much, but there were a couple of mistakes that were somewhat distracting, such as the time that an awards ceremony was supposed to begin being stated differently on different pages.
