I needed this book. I've read the entire series to date and I've come to the conclusion that I kinda hate Eve. A lot. This, helped me understand her a bit more. I wouldn't go so far as to say I like her or get her... because I don't. I guess I just dislike her and not hate.
II am hoping... HOPING... there's one about Michael's "ghosting" and Shane's adventures in the big, bad world.

First Day of the Rest of Your Life is book #2.5 in the Morganville Series by Rachel Caine. This story is from Eve's Point of View and takes place on her 18th birthday. I had never read any of the series, but when I picked up this novella I got my first glimps into the Morganville world, and liked what I saw. This story is told from Eve's pov and really offers a good background for the series. After reading it I went out and bought the first few books! Love them :)
I liked this story because it showed how Eve came to be living in the Glass House. We get a little insight into her family structure and what lead to her decisions. Its the first time we get to meeta few of the major players in the series and it wasn't too long or rushed.
Nice to gain an insight on things before Claire's story even started.
Even though there wasn't anything there that I didn't already know, it was nice to read about it from Eve's perspective and see how the original Glass House residents came to be - even before Claire arrived.

This was a nice prequel story. It gives more insight into Eve' life before glass house. Most of the regular series books are written from Clare's perspective, so it was nice to see the world through his eyes for a change.
Always wondered how Eve and Michael ended up living with each other since they weren't that close in school... So glad she wrote this so we could know! Love Michael's cute boyish charm, even during this short story.
I loved reading about Eve. It was good to see really what happened when she turned 18. We only get glimpse in the books. I really do enjoy these extras :D

I love getting a little extra information about the characters in the books I read. This was no exception. Fun quick story.
Cute story about how Eve came to live with Michael and why is feels the way she does about Miranda. Kinda wish I had read it after I read book 2 but I still enjoyed it.
A quick Morganville story that explains how Eve comes to live with Micheal at the Glass House!
Totally read this way before I was even a fan of MV. Nice to re-read, Eve & Michael awww :)
I don't really care for Eve's perspective much, but it was interesting to see her thought process as she rejects protection. Love the inclusion of Miranda.

One short story to make me hate the author, love the author, and search out the entire series. Can't wait for the rest of story!
This is a wonderful short story. I always wanted to know about what happened to Eve before she moved into Glass House. I felt so sad while reading this story. I mean losing the people who mean most to you in one night sucks. The nice thing is that she found someone who helped her even though that's not what normally happens in Morganville. Rachel Caine is an amazing writer and if you like the Morganville Vampires series this is a good quick read.
An entertaining and interesting glimpse into the life of Eve before Claire arrived. It's always great to get a little extra back story on some of the side characters from your favorite books. I'd love to get to see a little more of Miranda and get a better understanding of her inner workings.

This story is all about Eve and how she feels. I actually liked it, even though sometimes I dislike Eve and her attitude in the books. It's great insight to who she is as a character and whole.
Very short, but it's amazing to see a part of Eve that we didn't before. I loved it.
This was kind of messed up.....true to Morganville which is always fun to read.
I love Eve character so it was a nice little reading!
