I thought it was great, like all the other edge chronicle books. This is the last in the series of the Quint trilogy. Quint finds himself caught up in his father's dangerous quest for revenge against Turbot Smeal, who started a fire that murdered his wife and sons leaving Quint the only surviving member of his family.

Clash of the Sky Galleons by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell is another great book in the Edge Chronicles series. Incredibly imaginative and fun, you are drawn back into this strange world on the Edge. We follow Sky Pirate Captain Wind Jackal, his son Quint, Maris and the rest of the crew of the Galerider as they search for the evil former crew member who killed Wind Jackal's wife and kids, leaving only Quint. We are taken to the Great Shryke Slave Market, a woodtroll village in the heart of the

This book dissapointed me a lot. I was really looking forward to reading this, as I always do with Chronicles of the edge books.
This one was almost to describing in the language, and I found myself only reading every other word.
Also, the story didn't appeal to me, not nearly as much as the two books before it. It felt like there was too many things going on, and there really was no main focus. The whole Turbot Smeal thing kinda lost focus I think.
The book did have it's ups, and t More...

I was expecting something great to wrap up the conclusion to the Edge chronicles and the Quint trilogy, and I must say that I was a little disappointed. The story line wasn't as appealing to me as some of the others were, but it was still very, very enjoyable. The plot was too topsy-turvey as all the crew did was chase Turbot Smeal. It was still an excellent book, and even a book in the Edge Chronicles that I didn't enjoy so much still garnered 4 stars.

This is a great series for anyone who enjoys the LoTR or Lemony Snickett type books. In this book, you find out the story of how Quint came into becoming a Sky Pirate. It involves the Deepwoods again which is always my favorite local in this series. A big Sky ship battle climaxes the book with a nice clean ending. Not my favorite in the series but still a good read. I love the illustrations in this series.

I really enjoyed this book because of the adventure shared between father and son. I was a bit sad about the ending though when Wing Jackal died. But was even more shocked when I found out he was betrayed. I would say this book was the best Quint book out of all the other three. It had the best action and exciting moments.

I really enjoy the Edge Chronicles series by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. The world they have created is both imaginative and dangerous filled with remarkable creatures and characters. In this particular book, Sky Pirate Captain Wind Jackal is determined to find the evil Turbot Smeal, a former crew member who killed his wife and children. His son Quint was one of the lone survivors and he and his friend Maris accompany Wind Jackel aboard the Galerider with a crew of friends to track down T

Evildoer Turbot Smeal is back, and Turbot Smeal may have a secret identity! Trapped inside this epic adventure, Quint and Maris struggle to survive. This is a good book for people who like adventures.

Wow...I've finished the Edge Chronicles. According to the website for the books, there is a tenth one, but I've read what the site says about it, and it doesn't really seem to go with the others, so I'm saying that I've finished.
I really enjoyed the books, and will have to re-read them, but next time, in chronological order. Good books.

I liked this book as it develops the relationship Quint aka Cloud Wolf has with his father Wind Jackal. Wind Jackal is obsessed with finding a quartermaster named Turbot Smeal who betrayed Wind Jackal and killed his whole family except for Quint.
The story was a little slow in parts and could have used some editing or rearranging. The ending was really good and helped explain how Quint became the sky pirate we know in the Twig trilogy. This is my favorite of the Quint series. And a g More...

I rarely say this, but I'm saying it now ... these books are best read in chronological order rather than in the order of publication. Well, if you read them all back to back in a week or so, you could read them as published. But everything is so convoluted: a number of the characters appear in multiple generations throughout novels and the events are difficult to keep track of.
I do really enjoy the books as a series, though. The world and the creatures are creative. The characters exp More...

This is the least well developed plot line in the series. The plot is confusing, and only comes together in the final pages of the book. It seems like the original book was much longer, and did not survive the editors touch. This book is good for the descriptions of the flora and fauna of Edgeworld.

this book was a little more scattered than the other- but that did not take away from its greatness. especially the ending with quint and maris ;D

Maybe it's just because I hadn't read anything from this series for quite a while, but I absolutely loved this book. It's the ninth in the series, and now I can't wait for the tenth! Until now I hadn't given any book in this series five stars, but I feel that the series as a whole deserves five stars. Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell have created a fantastic fantasy world with interesting characters who I love to read about. And I LOVE the illustrations. The books wouldn't be the same without the

This was the last of the Quint books in this series. I really liked it. There were parts that were just so action packed and fun, or action packed and not fun. There were some sad happenings in this book, but because of hearing a little about Quint's life in previous books, I knew they were coming. Still, I couldn't stop myself from hoping it would turn out differently than it did. The big surprise ending wasn't as much of a surprise as I would have liked. Still this was great fun.
