By Jesse Gmitro
Part ghost story (in a very loose sense), part time-travel obyssey, "Chasing the Ghost" is an excellent, darkly romantic, intensely personal story, the author paints a compelling picture of selflessness, obsession, and the pursuit of righting the wrongs of the one she loves most -- even if it entails self-destruction. The language is expressive and effectively creates an unsettling, melancholy atmosphere that immerses the reader in the unfolding story -- one that, while access...more
Does love really transcend death? If given a choice to do over, to right things that may have been wrong, or seemed wrong for the one you loved would you take a chance? Would you sell your very soul to make the way smoother for your ‘soul mate’?

In Chasing the Ghost by A. Grams, we have the opportunity to follow the life of a soul in action. Making a deal for another to live her life, allowing her own spirit to follow the life of her love from birth, she intends to help him make decisions for a b...more
I found "Chasing the Ghost" to be a compelling read. I especially loved the perspective; A. Grams managed to convey both first person speaking and third person speaking with a deft touch.I thought the story was well done, and like any good piece of art, for me it raised as many questions as it gave answers.

Are we truly watched over by those who love us? What does happen once we've transitioned from this plane of existence to another? A. Grams suggest what may happen; what existence may be like o...more

Chasing the Ghost was an wonderful read. It is about a love that becomes obsession. This book will open you into time travel, which all wraps around a woman who is determined to change her lover's life and defies time itself. What if your own will could open up the gates to time and you could change things? This book allows you to go into a world like that. Love and osession show that they can be strong enough to will anything. So be prepared for one hellva ride.
For a wee book by a first-time author, it packs a hell of a punch. It's dark and dreamy and chronicles the replaying and of old wounds over and over again. The quality of the passage of time is strange--disjointed and unified all at once. Brutal and beautiful all at once, it's a book of lovely contradictions.
