Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
Ok so I LOVED Night is Darkest, but I absolutely LOVED Razor's Edge. BTW it was hard for me to tell on amazon that Night is Darkest was Book 1 of the Men in Blue series, so maybe my pointing it out will help you.

There was so much emotion in Razor's Edge, plot twists, love, sex, angst, even humor and MASON, TYLER & LACEY are a part of the story, it's great to see how they are doing and how the rest of the squadmates accept their committed menage. I loved the club scene, won't go into detail

It was okay. The sex scenes were nothing out of the ordinary (I did enjoy the one starring JRad) and again, the writing was so cheesy I could barely stand to finish it. Fortunately, I have a thing for cops.

Another great story from Jayne Rylon. Razor and Izzy were a great couple, and I loved to see their attraction grow. The one part of the story that made no sense to me was when she was trying to prove she wasn't the girl in the pictures by letting one of the officers check to see that her hymen was still intact. And then had a weird kind of threesome (still had the hymen afterward) with Razor and JRad. My feel is that if they really thought she was in the pictures, she probably would have been ar ...more

Despite the WTFery midway through, I liked the book a lot.

While I've been enjoying these books, the way they choose to "prove" her story was true was COMPLETELY ridiculous and really offensive to me.

Razor’s Edge is Wicked Hot

Razor’s Edge is the second book in MS. Rylon’s Men In Blue series. I have had the pleasure of reading the first book in the series, The Darkest Night and I can honestly say that the sequel is quite worthy of every compliment and accolade it receives. Sometimes one is afraid of sequels because they just never seem to be as good as the first, kind of like Disney’s Tarzan and Tarzan 2, but that is not the case here as Razor’s Edge kept me on the edge of my seat.

After finishing the first book in this series, I absolutely HAD to read Razor's Edge and I am so glad that I did. I have liked My Rylon's writing style and her stories for some time now, most recently due to her co-authoring a series with Mari Carr. Now I discovered some of her books that I had missed previously and am delighted to have found this series. What's not to like? Graphic life situations, hot loving, the interaction between strong people whose bonds of friendship can survive just abou ...more
I felt I needed to come back a few days later and give a better, or I should say more proper review.

These books have gotten decidedly darker.

Quite enjoyable, if some parts are a bit improbable (yeah, when you have a nurse in your gaggle of of people, two cops wouldn't perform a Hymen check themselves.)

Though... I really did like to see Jeremy do his thing..I might regret that a bit later on. The way he guided Izzy was something to behold. I do however wish he had been more in on the action and n

Even though this book had me going "Really? Really?" a few times, I liked it as a whole.

The same plot devices are used repeatedly in romance novels and whenever I found the story headed into one of those overused directions, the author threw me for a loop. Either, she wouldn't let the story go in that direction for very long or she'd blow my freaking mind with something so disturbing, I could no longer associate it with the tired plot devices of other stories.

Seriously. This book gets gross. As
Razor's ready to return to work after being being betrayed, shot & enduring over three months of hospitalization followed by physical therapy. His first assignment back is to go undercover to dig info up on a drug & sex slave ring.

Isabella escapes her husband after waking bound, flaunted for an audience, then tortured. She's willing to leave behind all the money & possessions she was born into then married up to, just to be free long enough to find a way to rescue other women who've

I did this a lot backwards, since I started with Mistress's Master and then read Night is Darkest after this one. I definitely would have enjoyed these books a lot more reading them in sequence since they all set up the future book. Now I LOVED the other 2 books in this series, but I just didn't enjoy Razor's Edge as much. It is more vanilla out of the 3 books. I wasn't really feeling Isabella either. It wasn't anything specific about the book that I disliked, but I think compared to the other 2 ...more

Hot, hot, hot!!! What an amazing read, I thought I loved Night is Darkest, but this book is even more love-worthy!! Razor survived his attack, and he has one chance to prove himself or he is off the force. Fighting his own demons he goes undercover to get information from Isabella. Unfortunately for him, they spark and burn anytime they close to each other, a constant occurrence when you are dance partners. It takes us a good part of the book to get Isabella's story, and when you do, your heart ...more

I absolutely loved Night Is Darkest, and this is the sequel to it. I really love Ms. Rylon's writing--I think it's smooth and easy to read. In this particular book, I just thought things dragged a bit too long. Then there was the whole checking the heroine's virginity thing by a bunch of cops, rather than taking her to a medical clinic for a doctor or nurse to examine...I had to suspend my disbelief for that scene and for what followed, but Ms. Rylon's love scenes are always very hot.

I really wanted to like this one more. A cop going undercover as a dance partner for a televised dance competition? Yes, please! A woman running from a loveless marriage, desperate to experiment with her sexuality? Sign me up! The names Isabella and Razor? Love it!
The base storyline was good, but it just seemed to drag on and on. It was a bit of a struggle to get through. After each line of dialogue, we are then taken through every thought in that character's mind before the next line is spoken.
I couldn't finish reading it. I just couldn't. Let me first say I found the hero, Razor or James, so immature. He sounded like a 16-year-old rather than a 24-year-old. I sort of liked the heroine a little more until the part where they check for her virginity. Oh God. I stopped reading a little after that. No way, I couldn't keep up. The writing wasn't bad, but I couldn't feel a thing about our hero. Yep, and that is a huge turn off for me. I know a lot of people liked this book, good for you bu ...more

HOLY COW! I loved this one! Jayne Rylon is right up there with Cherise Sinclair for me - LOVE IT! Razor was just a hot-ass hero you were routing for - from the ending of the 1st book in the series and it was awesome to see how his story turned out! This story was really good and kept me turning the pages well into the wee hours of the morning because I HAD to know what happened! At 17% I was completely SHOCKED, but I was hooked long before that anyway! I am ready to jump right into JRad's story ...more

Amazing story!! Totally enjoyed the characters and storyline with a bit of drama .....

A good basic story with some interesting plot shifts. A few details which didn't make sense and a few more that were totally wrong, but mostly well done. Editing to put breaks between scene changes would be a major help. Often had to re-read sections due to confusion.

Awesome sequel ~ I hope JRad’s story is next.

This book has everything ~ unseen plot twists, romance love, hot cop sex, gut wrenching angst, and a lot of laughs. I enjoyed that the characters from Book 1 were back; updates about how the rest of cops accept/support their committed ménage.
Awilk -never sleeps-
I usually enjoy Jayne Rylon's erotic little stories, but I am afraid that this one was a bit of a let down. The female lead, Izzy, annoyed me too much and her character took away some of my reading enjoyment. I will still be reading more from this author, as I have enjoyed everything else of hers that I have read.

I really like this book. I need to go back and read the first story in the series now. My bad, I should have read that one first. I liked the Dancing with the Stars type theme. I wish more was done with that. Wow, the bad guy is truly E V I L!!! Yikes, very scary. I want to read JRad's story. He intrigues me.

This turned out to be a better book at the end than I thought it would be when I started it. I got attached to the characters and wrapped up in their struggles and their relationship to each other. The sex was hot and of course there was a HEA.
This is a dark romance, so I don't think its acceptable to everyone. If you can't accept menage in story, well, the only menage part of the story is (view spoiler)

I thought this was good although I really had to suspend belief at times. I really liked the characters and the basic storyline, but I wanted Razor and Izzy to have a more developed relationship. However, I thought it was hot, and I will continue with the series.

I just couldn't get into this book. The storyline was ridiculous, the characters were whiny, needy and insecure. No chemistry at all. I only finished it because I wanted to know more about JRad. I'm looking forward to his story.
