Chris, the Dalek King
This is a bit ranty, at tad spiolery, and more than a little long. You have been warned.

I have read a book. By all accounts, it was a bad book (horrible, inconceivably horrible) riddled with plot holes the size of Dalek battle fleet. That is not my problem (48% of problem). My problem is that the readers of this novel are told to believe that the heroine (Sara) is an independent woman, and that is why she acts like a complete moron when faced with danger. This annoys me, not so much because it

I was introduced to this series by the author and I'm so glad for it! The story follows Sara, a strong-willed, stubborn girl with a violent past. She's on the run, she trusts no one, and yet she can maintain a sense of innocence and naïveté about her that makes her even more intriguing. I found myself identifying with her quite often--the author has a way with words that is almost conversational, as if she was telling a story about someone you know.

Quite frankly, this was a page-turner for me.

Talk about confusing characters! I don't get Sara at all, at the beginning of the story I was excited since she was introduced as an 11 year old kid who was like super talented/skilled and smart mouthed to boot. She is supposed to be a protector to a queen (supposedly a super ancient magical queen whose name happens to be Melody...yes Melody), a strong character and she was introduced to us 15 years later vacuuming the floor!? (yes they said she was a pilot but come on!) And don't make me even b ...more

Aaron the dreamy vampire has finally met his match when he meets Sara. Sara can literally bring anyone to their knees and beg for mercy in many ways. Sara has had a very rough life and trusts no one except for Mel, the Queen that she has protected for years and now is protecting Mel from the evil Sherman. Sherman was Mel’s husband and an evil one at that. The connection between Aaron & Sara is just amazing and watching as the characters grow into something more than would ever imagine is int ...more

First of all, I would like to apologise to fellow Goodread reviewers if I go over some points that you have already mentioned - to me it indicates that there are a lot of things in this book that drew reader’s attention for similar reason.
My family often makes fun of me because I have tendency to make lists – I suppose, as I work in R&D, it comes from writing a lot of technical reports, procedures and instructions. So, in my own fashion, here is why this book did not work for me, otherwise

This is an amazing debut novel for author Kathi Barton. Ms. Barton has done an amazing job of building the sexual tension between the hero(Aaron) and heroine(Sara). I would love to see so much more of Sara's story. Because my first love lies with young adult novels, all I could think while reading this amazing novel was 'I would love the author to do Sara's back story as a YA novel.

Blood, Body and Mind has amazing description and takes the reading into the magic with in the book. I loved readin

Sarah Temple prefers to remain under the radar, working quietly for vampires. hiding what she is from everyone. When she saves the life of Master Vampire Aaron MacManus, she becomes the focus of more people than she really is comfortable about, because she finds it increasingly difficult to hide out, protecting her Queen in the process

It was a mix of feelings for me on this book.

I liked the story... What I didn't like was that while it prolonged the novel from sex craziness until 70% something (Kindle edition) which was usually ok with me - it ended up all about sex after that point. Eh, I like it a little spread out through the story with its plot intact. So after that point, I was actually disappointed. There were minor grammatical errors but it didn't bother me this time - just the plot seemed to be lost after the characte

Sara Temple is a Royal Guard among other things. She wields a very strong magic too. She met Marcus, another Royal Guard , and Melody, Queen of Magick, fifteen years ago and became Melody,s youngest guard at the age of 11. Now, at 26, Sara has been in hiding for 4 years after being accused of killing the Queen and has been sentenced to death. Not a good book, I got to about chapter 10 before I had to stop. I'm not sure but it seems like there were 2 authors to this book and they didn't really agree on the rules they made or the main character's personality. Some times Sara is kick ass and can take a bullet and keep on going like it wasn't even there. She is smart mouthed, confident, loyal, hard working but hard and jaded. Then she will randomly burst into tears in front of people she does not trust and

This was one of the best books I have read.

It's the story of a young magical woman who is being hunted by a powerful being while struggling to protect another.

Aaron McManus is a powerful vampire who has just inherited the kiss.

They meet when Sara saves Aaron's life.

The sparks begin to fly.

As their relationship grows, danger surrounds them.

Will they ever find their happy ever after?

Come and read this story. You won't be disappointed.

Couldn't get past sample: Too many characters plus no 11yr old girl I know talks like this:

“You’re late, asshole. You said you’d be here an hour ago and now I have a class”

“Who’s the broad?”

The girl snorted. “You can try, old man. I’m not one of your rug rats to be ordered about."

“No. I won’t hurt you. I refuse to play like this so some woman will have sex with you.”

I really love Vampires so this series is right up my alley. This is the first book in the Aaron's Kiss Series.

Aaron McManus is a very old, very powerful vampire and the new head honcho Master Vampire. While visiting some members of his realm, Aaron runs into some trouble with his own guards trying to murder him.

Sara Temple, a beautiful young woman working as a pilot for some vamps in the realm, saves the master vampire.....which starts in motion a whole slue of problems. Sara has many secrets, b

It was like someone said they were going to the shop for more milk the other person was like alright see ya later and that was it. I'm really not sure what I think of this novel. I nearly put it to the never to be finished pile. I kept reading hoping it would pick up or develop or just anything. I gave it 2 stars cause it does have potential to become a great story. Rewritten of course.
It has the potential to be fantastic, but it has the feel of a YA and a rushed, unfinished YA book to boot.

Aaron and Sara meet during an attempt to kill him. He's a Vampire and she is a Human. Well that is a little calm for what Sara really is but then I can't tell that part or I'd give away the story. Say non the less she saves Aaron's life as well as her friends. Oh did I mention that Aaron's a Vampire. Couldn't put the book down, had to find out if all would turn out as it should. Still a surprising end.

“Blood, Body and Mind” was a good read. Sara is accused of treason for killing Queen Melody; mistress of light and keeper of magic. Sara has powers most are unaware of, especially the family she works for; a family she saved from being killed by vampires. Aaron’s life was hanging in the balance; Sara agreed to save his life and in exchange he had to take a life. The high council wanted Sara dead for killing the Queen but no one wants her dead as much as Melody’s mate Sherman. Sherman has other p ...more
