I don't always like Kaffee Fassett's style of quilting (or the color combination) he uses, but there are a few quilts in here that are beautiful. "Rattan Squares" is a simple, simple quilt (my favorite kind, i think) that is completed by the quilting. The quilting creates smaller squares out of the larger prints - sort of like saving yourself the time of cutting and piecing those tiny squares.

I also really liked the dark, set-on-point, squares of "Illuminated Lattice." This quilt has four trian

I love the introduction of wide stripes in quilting. Instead of quilting the solids together for wide stripe view in quilts, the fabric itself creates that look. This simplifies the quilting process, saving time. This book uses a selection of fabrics to make the suggested designs thereby also simplifying the buying and cutting of fabric.

I've long loved Kaffee Fassett's fabrics, bold quilt designs and jewel tones. This work is unique in that it describes Fassett's design process and shows how he works with the quilter who executes his designs. Ad added bonus of the work are the photographs of Fassett's quilts against the brilliant folk architecture and cultural artifacts of Sweden. There are several quilts in the collection that I can see myself making. Some disappointment in that some of the quilts seemed less intricate than I' ...more

The best part of this was the section that showed the design process that led to some of these quilts. I also liked that in addition to the artistic photos showing the quilts in and around the historic Swedish buildings there was also a studio photo of each quilt showing the entire layout. The advertisement vibe to this is a bit too strong for my taste; all of the quilts are made from fabrics that Kaffe and his studio design and profit from and the supplies lists indicate which prints in which c ...more

Okay, so I bought this book because so many people are so ga-ga for Kaffe Fassett's quilts and fabric, and I wanted to see what it was all about. It is a very nice book with wonderful photos of fabrics, quilts, and the inspiration of Sweden. For all the vibrand colors and great photographs, this just isn't my style. If you already love Kaffe Fassett you will probably also love this book.

beautiful and inspiring. These bright colored quilts were great to pore over on a gray winter day. The instructions look very clear and most of the designs are simple, requiring only straight-line machine piecing, which I prefer.

This is a beautiful quilt book but not my style. I would have given it four stars if there was better editing. It's more like a 3.5.

Do I quilt? No. Did I check this out just to look at the pretty pictures? Why yes, yes I did! Some stunning designs in here.
