I'm a sucker for free books...Most are good, and if they're not, well, time wasted - still nothing's really free. I won't say this book is not good - I've yet to know. The description said it is a prequel to "The Orchard", but not like the X-Men First Class, this prequel won't stand alone. It's actually a teaser...Actually, fifty percent of the book is a preview to "The Orchard", so really you're getting two previews for free. It teases you so that you'd want to buy the whole book, but for $10.9...more

I did enjoy this, but it was really short. It was one of the shortest e-books that I have ever read. It was a prequel, but I thought it was going to be a just a little longer. I may read The Orchard, which is what Love a la Carte was a prequel to.

This was a freebie on the Kindle so I figured "why not?" But, I soon found out that it is really a VERY short prequel to the book, The Orchard. Which, I'm not so sure I will buy.

I loved The Orchard, and this short story just added to my love for its characters. This is a great way to get sucked into a wonderful read. The information about flavorists was really interesting.

Ehh...Didn't really get the point of this short story! It was an added story line that would have fit in the middle of the book. Good thing it only took me 10 min to read! :)
Cate
A cute short story teaser for The Orchard. :)
Amy
Very short. I think it is said to be a prequel, but after reading the snippet of The Orchard I felt more like it was something that really will be later in that book. So this feels more like a hook to get you to read The Orchard. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this and will be looking for The Orchard soon.

This is hardly a book. It's a teaser to The Orchard. Author would have done better by including the few new pages here into The Orchard.

I didn't realize this was actually a prequel to The Orchard. It was a cute, very short read. I am not sure if I would want to read the book or not.
Heather
Very short story that wasn't terrible but not enough to make me want to read the book it was a prequel to.

33pg prequel/short story, but I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading more.
Cheryl
I read the book before I read this prequel. It was cute. I enjoyed reading about Dylan's and Grace's third date.
Tanya
It's not an actual book - it's like a free sample to a (hopefully real?) book... Fail
Sharon
Stories that are interesting but could benefit from elaboration and direction.
Anne-Kathrine
Cute prequel. Look forward to reading the next book in this series :)
Lorie
Don't judge the book by this story.... story is much better.
Joanna
no real plot, just a quick peek into someone's day.
Suzie
Good short story. I hope I can find the rest of this short story.
Andrea Strickland
Nice SHORT story. I'm curious to read some of Jeffrey Stepakoff's novels.
Paula Browning
Cute but only a short story.
Jen Green
Thought it was great as an intro to The Orchard, but also as a nice snip it back into the world of Grace and Dylan. A sort of reminiscence. Crisp, clean, fragrant and free.
Breanna
very slow start, dont understand where the next book will be going.

The prequel was too short... oh well, at least I got to read it for free.
