OMG this was so great Photobucket A blend of paranormal, ancient Egypt, pharaohs, and mythology Photobucket Wow.

Well, first you have to understand that I'm a big lover of ancient Egypt, and the myths and everything related to it. Well, not just Egypt, anything ancient is awesome to me Photobucket and 'The Mummy' is my favorite movie of all time,...more

This new ‘BodyWalkers’ series picks up right at the end of the NightWalkers series; but as the plotline is going in a new direction with new characters (for the most part), it’s not necessary to have read that series to enjoy this one. There is enough background given to quickly get the new reader up to speed on the world. The BodyWalkers are a new and as yet unexplored part of the NightWalkers world, having long been shrouded in secrecy. This was a pretty cool book, imaginative; and with good w...more

Favorite line - "Oh, co'mon. Did the red sea part even just a little bit?" She held up her thumb and forefinger an inch apart.
Favorite character - Singsing, the Djinn

I think the fact i haven't read any other Nightwalkers books made this harder for me to get into. Maybe if i had i might of enjoyed the book more?
I did not like the idea of someone else's soul/Ra being in your body, changing your personality, taking you over - i found that seriously disturbing. It i...more

I liked this new series and addition to the Nightwalker world. Full review on Fiction Vixen Book Reviews

Forbidden is the first book in a new series by Jacquelyn Frank. It is set in the same world as her previous Nightwalker books but it focuses on a new group called Bodywalkers. Basically what a Bodywalker is a spirit from older times that inhabits the body of a current human. The spirits are ancient Egyptians that have been cursed to live forever. They survive in the Ether...more

Thought I would get a head start on this book for my next review yesterday at 5 pm and when I look up next it was after midnight and the book was finished. I literally couldn’t put this book down. I missed dinner and even forgot to put a load of clothes in to wash. So you have been warned up front that this story is enough to get absolutely lost i...more

Forbidden is the first in the new series, World of the Nightwalkers, featuring Bodywalkers, an ancient race that shares the physical being of humans; they are two souls in one body. They descend from ancient times and Egyptian culture, and are dependent upon their human hosts. Once the Blending is complete, neither can survive without the other.
Docia Waverley is the victim of a brutal murder and journeys into the realm where Bodywalkers wait to choose their next host. Here, Docia is given the ch...more

I have enjoyed Jacob (Night Walkers #1) and Drink Of Me (a stand alone novel) by Jacquelyn Frank. Also have a few others in different series sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read. I really have no idea what I just read. It starts off good but when the characters started blending with in each other I was lost. I felt too much was happening. Too much going back and forth between the host (human) names and the original names. The story for me also dragged after awhile and was too easy to put...more

Forbidden by Jacquelyn Frank is one of the best novels I've recently read. I throughly enjoyed all the aspects of the novel and cannot wait until Forever, the second book of The World of Nightwalkers series, comes out.

Usually now I'd try to briefly summarize the novel without giving away any spoilers but I feel like anything I try to explain for this novel would be a spoiler. So I'd suggest you read the back of the book, a couple of reviews, and then go out and get a copy of Forbidden and read t...more

Welcome to the world of NightWalkers! We have always been fascinated with Mummies...well I have anyway. They can scare the bejeebers out of me! What if all the preparations that the Priests and Priestess enacted on the bodies of the dead had a basis in truth? Well prepare yourself: in Jacquelyn Franks "Forbidden" they do. When their bodies were prepared to rule in the afterlife, the Gods that they prayed to got just a touch angry..so instead of moving on to Heaven, the souls of the mummies wait...more

Forbidden is the first book in Jacquelyn Frank’s newest series, The World of Nightwalkers. It is a spinoff of the Nightwalker series is but it has all new characters and a completely different feel. Forbidden is overall a good book but I feel it suffers a bit from “first in the series syndrome”. Where there is a lot of information thrown towards the reader and it affects the flow of the story. I had a hard time staying absorbed in book during diff...more

An interesting twist and a new spinoff/continuation series...

I should have believed in her. Jacquelyn Frank had never truly disappointed me until “Adam”, the sixth book in the Nightwalkers series, was done. I thought that she was done with the story. Not so and thank goodness. You knew there was more to the story and she has introduced us to that with “Forbidden”. Forbidden introduces you to a part of the Nightwalkers world we did not know existed and she has created a new type of character, Bod...more

FORBIDDEN (World of the Nightwalkers #1) by Jacquelyn Frank

FORBIDDEN is the first novel in Jacquelyn Frank’s new spinoff from the World of the Nightwalkers-The Bodywalkers. The Menes Bodywalkers are a species of beings from ancient Egypt whose soul or spirit remains in the Ether, waiting to cross over and ‘blend’ with another, and like the Nightwalkers, the Bodywalkers are nocturnal. The Bodywalkers are at their weakest during the blending while the soul and the host merge into one and the domin...more

“Forbidden” is part of a paranormal series that gives a nice twist on the concept of reincarnation. It is a fascinating glimpse of certain historical figures even as it blends intriguing interpretations for significant events. The idea that Bodywalkers have boundless wisdom, extraordinary powers and the will of the gods on their side yet are confined to darkness and vulnerable to something as commonplace as orange juice is a study in contrasts. Entertaining asides (such as Docia’s susceptibility...more

Forbidden begins a new trail in the Nightwalkers saga by Jacquelyn Frank. Like the ShadowDwellers series, it runs parrallel to the Nightwalkers. I am keeping my fingers crossed that eventually all these paths will come together but for now we get to meet an entire new group of NightWalkers. The Body Dwellers. We do get to see Bella for just a smidgeon of a moment where she discovers that there are actually 12 types of Nightwalkers, not the 6 they are currently aware of and that a new prophecy m...more

Review written for www.books-n-kisses.com

This is a new series about Nightwalkers branching off from the older one about Bodywalkers and I have to say I was confused. I have not read the other series and I just had no idea who these characters were and why they were doing what they were doing.

That being said it was an interesting story if not a bit too far fetched for me. I guess I should have realized that this was about a reincarnation from long ago using another body to come back to the world...more

Forbidden is a deep rooted love story that delves into the paranormal world of Nightwalkers. In this beginning tale we learn of the Bodywalkers. If you have a love of Egyptian history and mythology than you will already love this book as the very essence of what these beings are founded within it.

Bodywalkers are essentially those who were mummified and prepared for the afterlife. Wh...more

I’ve been a fan of Jacquelyn Frank for some time. I loved her Nightwalkers series. The intermingling of old paranormal creatures and new ones made for interesting, fun, sexy reads. In Forbidden, Frank’s newest series you begin with what promises to be a future melding of the two series. She gives us a new species of nightwalker with the Bodywalkers. At first the book seemed like it would be as good as any in the original Nightwalker series, but quickly that hope became disappointment. Now, I’m n...more

This is my second read by J. Frank and liked it, but I wasn't overly impressed with the story. This is a spin off from the world of the Nightwalker series. The new beings, the Bodywalkers are ancient Egyptian who take over the body or share a body with present day humans who have died. These humans are at times given the choice to share their body with the walkers.

I enjoyed the characters for the most part. I have to say the neither Docia (the female lead) or Ram (the male lead) piqued my intere...more

Well, I know why only one person put this as a favorite series. This will be one I abandon.

Jacquelyn Frank has several series working. All of them are night walkers. Those who cannot walk in the sun. This series is about souls from Egypt (Cleopatra etc.) jumping into & sharing soul space with humans who almost or do die & come back to life. There is a time for blending where both souls blend into a personality of one individual.

I myself cannot take a whole lot of inner termoil. Obviousl...more

I'm giving 1 star just for the Prologue...

(view spoiler)[ I was so excited when I found out Jacquelyn Frank was extending the Nightwalker world, but this first book was such a mess. The Prologue with Bella and Kestra in Noah's library was so promising when Bella discovered that there might be 12 types of Nightwalkers rather than just the 6 we knew of so far... but then we got the Bodywalkers... *sigh*

The premise is that the Ancient Egyptians accidentally discovered through the mummific

First of all, please understand, I am definitely a Jacquelyn Frank fan and I loved her Nightwalkers series.

I just finished reading Forbidden, the first book of the Bodywalkers series. I love the concept of the species of Bodywalkers. Very different from most other Paranormal stories.

The story was very interesting, but I was confused at times, and it was a little weird with the combined souls of Ram/Vincent & Docia/Tameri. Especially during the romance scenes. I honestly liked the characters,...more

Forbidden is Jacquelyn Frank’s first novel in her new Bodywalkers storyline (The World of Nightwalkers), a spin off to the Nightwalker.

The Bodywalkers are beings from ancient Egypt, create by the priest ritual of embalming, their spirits are held in the Ether. They can cross over and “blend” with another soul only when it’s on the verge of death.

Docia Waverly lives in Saugerties, NY. She is on her way to work talking to her brother, K9 officer, Jackson on her cell phone while she walks to work....more

This book is starting to grow on me. I was really struggling and then quit reading it all together, but have come back to it, between work and just being busy it feels like it’s taken forever to finish. I think the reason I struggled with this so much was because it’s listed as “The World of Nightwalkers” which I assumed would have all my favorite characters from the “Nightwalkers” series….if you haven’t read this series, it’s definitely a “must read” all 6 books in this series are just AMAZING...more

First off- I'm not going to summarize any of the plot points. I feel that enough people do that where I don't have to do it.

What worked for me? I really liked the concept of The Bodywalkers. That was something that I find intriguing and a novel concept. I don't believe I've read that in any other story. I enjoyed some of the characters - Jackson was amazing. Marissa could be pretty decent. I'd like to learn a lot more about Leo though! Ram was ok- I did not love him, nor did I hate him.

Jacquelyn Frank is another new author for me and I thought I would check out Forbidden. One of my good online friends loves her and her Nightwalkers series. I was really excited to get started on this one.

I loved the idea of Bodywalkers, however and the blending of the original soul with the designated “old soul” (the Bodywalker). It was a different aspect of paranormal. One of the things that threw me off was that they were not explained right away, so I felt exactly as Docia did, lost. She has...more

“As an American, you make choices every day for others by supporting your government and its excursions or military actions into other countries. When you buy coffee at the same café every morning, you are choosing to support that business. When you pass judgment on the girl your brother starts to date, you affect his life. When you work for your boss, you choose to support him in his endeavors, as well as everyone else his business touches. You make choices for others every day.
