I bought the book for my brother who wanted to know more about sensible eating, what plant foods he should grow in his garden this year, and what the health benefits of the power foods are. He was amazed at the range and depth of information presented. While the format seems to provide the information as somewhat technical the writing is accessible to all readers. This handy reference provides detailed information if you are looking for a food to counter or minimize allergies, diabetes, heart pr...more

I received this book as a giveaway on Goodreads and I'm very surprised how useful I'm finding this resource. I really love the beginning of the book where it discuss health problems and linked it to the appropriate power food. The picture really help for quick reference. This is a fabulous reference book for people who are interested in improving their over all health through healthy eating.

“Eat Smart Stay Well” is a great book to use as a reference tool for food nutrition awareness. I have found that the manner in which the book is laid out provides the reader with a means to easily access information about a particular fruit, vegetable, nut or plant, with pertinent information relating to each. Not only do I find the information on the benefits of each for optimum health informative, but some of the known uses shared in the book will be beneficial for food preparation.

Interesting read. Not sure how much of the info I would use, but I found the information to be interesting.

I have been thinking alot about impoving my diet lately! I don't eat very well and of course need to loose substantial weight. I just hope to learn habits that will help me toward a healthier lifestyle. Crash diets don't work so I'm wanting a long term fix not to get me cute for the summer. Plus my mother died suddenly very recently of complications of high blood pressure and I don't want that to happen to me! This book is just packed with great, useful information!! Everybody should read this i...more
