Somehow the stories just didn't work for me, which is odd, as I usually lap up anything by Gardner Dozois. The only real exception was the beautifully written final story, "The Eye of God" by Mary Rosenblum, which I had to put away halfway through because I couldn't deal with the piercing strength and hopelessness of the emotion.

This second volume of so-called space adventure didn't really have much of what I'd call Space adventure, but was a solid selection by the best editor in the business. Unlike the first volume, which dug up some gems from the past, this one seems a bit redundant, collecting many stories that have already been collected elsewhere.

Still worth having if you want a survey of SF from the 80s and 90s, but there are other, similar collections out there
