I've really enjoyed reading The Birth of Jaiden by debut author, Jennifer Malone Wright. She did a spectacular job on this book. From the moment you begin to read it, you won't be able to put it down.
Most of the vampire-paranormal books I've read are trite and the characters stereotypical, but this is not your ordinary book. Immediately, you're introduced to Alexander Lucas. A one-hundred year old vampire whose only wish is to have something or someone worth "living" for. He's unlike any other

Alex is a 100 year old vampire suffering from depression. He lost his family in Russia in a fire and was turned against his will. He feels like his soul is damned even though he has a guardian angel who also happens to be his best friend. He goes to church every night praying for a sign from God to give him a purpose. What he gets though is not what he expected. He gets a very powerful natural born witch baby who has the power to destroy the world if she has the wrong people get her. Charged wit ...more

This is not a typical vampire story. It is full of new twists, new takes on supernatural beings and an interesting storyline. Vampires, angels, dark angels, witches, warlocks and let’s not forget, a baby! Love all those! The author wove these characters together beautifully.
It starts with Alex, a telepathic vampire who believes himself cursed but has a strong faith in God. Cliché I know. He asks for something to live for in his damned existence and ever haunting past. He is given the baby Jaide

I received a smashwords copy of this book in return for an honest review. I never was able to read this book when it was called The Birth of Jaiden and when I got my copy of Savior, I felt like beating myself of the head repeatedly for not reading it before this. So much went on and characters were so mind blowing real and I felt like I was a part of the story from beginning to end. I was in a trance and just felt like I was watching everything happen in my head like a movie, that is how real I ...more

Where to begin; I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I had to go back and re-read the last several chapters as I blew through them in an effort to see how it ended, what becomes of Jaiden??

This is not your typical vampire story. It is full of new twists, new takes on supernatural beings and an interesting storyline. Vampires, angels, dark angels, witches, warlocks, slayers and let's not forget, baby Jaiden! Alex an oh so very old vampire, with a conscience and a guardian angel, stumbles upon a baby i

How can you tell this is a great book???? Well, I thoroughly enjoyed it despite not being a huge fan of witches, slayers, fairies and such. I also have a love/hate relationship with vampires, but absolutely loved the main character here - Alex - the main vampire in this book! For me the important thing is characters that are real and have deep motivations, rather than your average 'I'm a bitter sexy hungry vampire', or 'poor me' vampire. Alex has had a motivation since he was alive and that cont ...more

When I read about the Birth of Jaiden, I knew that I just hads to read it for two reasons. One being that right now I am throughly enjoying Vampire themed books at the moment, The other was a more personal reason and that was because to of the characters where named after my nieces Jaiden (spelled Jadyn) and Isabella. I know this is a very kooky reason but it's true.

I feel that Jennifer Wright did a surperb job with her first novel and I actually can not wait to read more from her. As I started

I don’t think that I have ever struggled with a review as much as I am with this one! Ahhhh!!! I can’t even decide how I feel about The Birth of Jaiden! Or even how I would rate it!!

OK...I've decided! I actually REALLY liked this book, Jennifer has created an amazing fantasy novel (a guilty pleasure...shhh, don't tell anyone LOL). The writing was a little choppy but the story kept me entertained enough to not let it bother me. While reading there was never a time that I wanted to put the book do

I would describe The Birth of Jaiden as refreshing and inspirational, it’s not your typical vampire story and that right there is what I love about this book. The story centers around the life of a century old vampire named Alexander Lucas, who is struggling to come to terms with what he has become and Dealing with the death of his family. After all this time Alexander is still searching for his purpose, he breaks into his local church every night to pray. Even after what he has become he has no ...more

Hea y'all Anne here and I've just finished reading Birth Of Jaiden by Jennifer Malone Wright and here we go. Vampires, Angels, Witches, and Demons OH MY. Yes they are all in the book and they are written with such a grand magnitude that there is no way you can't fall in love with each character no matter if it's a demon or a fallen angel. The story is magnificent and captivating from page one, the main character Alex has some serious inner struggles going on but be that as it may he never looses ...more

I have been back and forth on this book. I wasn't quite sure what exactly to talk about in the review or what to rate it. Normally I have a good list of specifics that I want to bring up, after reading a book.

But after reading The Birth of Jaiden, I found that I didn't have such a list. I just had some vague impressions. I enjoyed the book, and I would love to read more by Jennifer Malone Wright. The plot was really interesting and there was a lot going on, but for some reason I wasn't complete

The Birth of Jaiden is the debut novel for Jennifer Wright and one that is a really tantalizing read.

I was drawn to the story from the beginning as I found it very interesting how Jennifer combined faith with vampires. At first I struggled with the concept that Alex, the main character, is a vampire who has faith in God. I found it rather interesting how Jennifer combined vampires and having a faith in God.

When I learnt more about Alex’s past I began to understand how he came to have faith in

The Birth of Jaiden is an inspirational story that shows us that we can choose to be good or we can choose to be evil. People are not always who or what you expect them to be.

Alex is a century old vampire, who breaks into a church every night to pray to God for the simple fact that he loathes what he has been turned into. He believes that God has a purpose for him that is greater than even he can understand, though he has his doubts from time to time. His character completely took me by surprise

This book by debut author Jennifer Malone Wright was an interesting read as it seemed to combine all the best and worst of what we love about the paranormal. This book has almost everything: Guardian Angels, Fallen Angels, reformed Vampire, non-reformed Vampires, good Witches, evil Witches, Slayers, Magicians….well, you get the idea. I like the tormented main character, Alex. You don’t often read about a one-hundred year old vampire that b

This book was amazing from the first moment I flipped it open to start to read it! I was a huge fan of Jennifer Malone Wright's The Vampire Hunters Daughter short stories but this book by far made one of the best reads I have read in awhile!

I really enjoy Jennifer Malone Wright’s series of short stories, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, so I figured that I would try out the Birth of Jaiden, even though it looks very different from the types of books that I normally read. I’m glad that I gave it a try! It was refreshing to read a book with a new, interesting take on vampires. This book wasn’t your typical Twilight knock-off. It was also very different from Wright’s Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series, with scenes that were much more inte ...more

Loved it!! The story line was great. The characters easy to like. Each person, whether its vamp or vamp slayer, human or witch, working together was fantastic!!!
Jennifer did a great job of writing the ending. She left it to where she can leave it how it is or write a second book! Really hope to read book 2 if she makes one.

The only part I wasn't thrilled about (although I understand why it needed to be there) was all the praying. Don't get me wrong it was a major part of the story line but just

This is one amazing paranormal read. A vampire asked by God to watch over a baby girl who could bring human's destruction or salvation depending on who raised her. It is a struggle between good and bad that has no real ending in sight. So many wonderful characters capture your heart and make you regret finding out some of their outcomes :( Very action packed, romanticly sweet and full of surprises that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat :D Must read for all of you paranormal fanatics ...more

This definitely is not your typical vampire book. Alex is a vampire who was turned against his will and hates what he has become. Alex can't seem to get over his family death even though it's been a very long time. He goes to church to pray for something to live for. Alex prayers are answered when Jaiden is brought into his life. Jaiden is the child of prophecy who he must raised as his own child and protect her from his enemy Malcolm with help from the great council.

Really good story. It's different to see the main male character as a father figure rather than a lover. Connor wait to read what happens next.
