Overall Feedback: Joel does a great job of giving great tips to authors throughout this book and he also alludes to where you can find help yourself online. He makes this book a great starting point for anyone getting into Self Publishing.
Point of View: This entire book is made of Blog posts that Joel had been utilizing in his blog. Therefore everything comes from him and in his expert voice.

Containing both practical advice and inspiring insights for any author wishing to choose self-publishing as a career choice, this guide is a gem. While an enthusiastic advocate of self-publishing, the author is also realistic about what the requirements and challenges are for the self-published author. I've been a fan of Joel Friedlander for a long time. As a long-time blog reader, I had read most of the articles in this book, which is a compilation of blog posts organized and edited into a cohesive whole. Even so, I found the re-reading worthwhile.

Immensely readable and helpful. A great guide to self-publishing, marketing and promotion. It was this book that got me onto Twitter as a first step into social networking.
If you have EVER even thought of self publishing you need to read this. There are so many things to consider other than just typing up your masterpiece and throwing it up on Amazon. Joel has made me look at it in a whole new way and really helped frame up what I want from my work.
