I was quite shocked to see how old this book was (1928). Even more amazing is that there does not seem to have been a newer translation published until Ann Nyland's in 2010! I guess that shows how robust this translation is. Nevertheless, this didn't prevent Jonas Greenfield from raking Odeberg's scholarship over the coals in the prologue written in 1973. Perhaps such raking is merited, but I can't help but wonder if there might be some personal animosity because of Odeberg's strong pro-Nazi and ...more

I read all 3 of the books that were on the list and this one was harder for me to understand. it talks about the old testament and somewhat Judaism. It also deals with Christianity. I found it confusing and probably wouldn't recommend it.
