It’s time to review a great new middle grade novel that’s hit the shelves. The second in the Blogtastic series, Rumors from the Boy’s Room is Rose Cooper’s second novel.

The Story- Sofia is back, along with her best friend Nona and her bow wearing enemy Mia. This year, Sofia is getting all the information for her school blog from conversations overheard in the hallways and outside the boys’ room. The big news of this school year is that an exchange student is coming.

The other hot news item, Sofia...more

A sequel to Gossip from the Girls' Room, Sofia is back, and this time she's determined that she's only going to blog about things she knows are completely true. Unfortunately, she's still getting most of her information from overhearing other people talking around the school. Sofia discovers that even when she's trying to tell only the facts, the way she goes about find things out might not be the most reliable.

The perfect book for your information literacy class. Can't you just picture it? We a...more

Rumors from the Boys Room by Rose Cooper is an illustrated novel about Sophia, middle school gossip blogger. Sophia's notebook contains all the gossip she finds to post on her blog (not all of which ends up being accurate). From her teacher mother's pregnancy to the new foreign exchange student at school Rose keeps us up with all the gossip.

This is a cute and easy book that young readers will enjoy. It's partially illustrated with drawn pictures every couple pages to keep readers who are new to...more

Rumors from the Boy's Room is an illustrated novel in journal format. It's very similar in look and feel to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Dork Diaries series. Sofia is a funny, quirky narrator who is constantly snooping (and overhearing information incorrectly) in order to discover interesting information to post on her blog (and hopefully become popular). Her conversational tone and spunky voice remind me of a younger Mia Thermoplolis from Meg Cabot's Princess Diaries series. The doodle-like ill...more

I read this book without any preconceived ideas. I have not read Ms. Cooper's first book, Rumors from the Girls' Room or any of the Wimpy Kids books that are often compared with Ms. Cooper's books. I have a young middle school child and can't get him away from the computer or blogs. This book was fun. I can't think of any other way to describe the Blogtastic Book. I've seen the word 'bubbly' used to describe the first book and couldn't agree more. I found myself laughing out loud at the crazy an...more

This review is based on an e-galley from NetGalley.com.

This was just as cute as Gossip from the Girls Room. However, this Rumors from the Boys' Room didn't have the moral of not gossiping about people like the first book did. But, less of the book was focused on hating on other girls and spreading stories about them. This one was slightly more focused on friendship, relationships, and taking a leading role in activities. A very cute read for elementary kids! This is a great book for Wimpy Kid an...more

This was OK. The character's voice was pretty accurate as far as portraying an 11-year-old girl, and the journal was written in the right style. However, that means it was meandering, choppy and sometimes pointless. The "blogtastic" part of this book was a bit of a misnomer. There were no interactive features, which was what I was expecting. The main character simply has a blog, which is a regurgitation of events that she writes about in her diary. Sometimes you get a chuckle here and there, but...more

This book was hilarious. The illustrations were awesome. :D

I actually liked this one better than Gossip from the Girls' room. I still have a problem with the set up - the notebook and a classroom-based blog in which the teacher allows such non-educational and, well, nasty posts. Most classroom based blogs are built around an activity (book reviewing) or unit. It would've been more believable had she just been blogging secretly.

Sofia's entertaining in her self-centered, single-minded determination to be popular and take down the alpha girl. Girls at my...more

How hard is everyone trying to come up with a new version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Pretty hard. For me this book was a shallow read that would work on the beach and would be lightly entertaining but doesn't have much substance. I would not head to the shelves to find it if I had a young reader asking me for a book recommendation. Sorry, I just think our children deserve more.

I thaught this book was a very good book. It had alot of confusing parts in it. Its a none fiction book and its about middle school, somthing you can kinda relate to. This book was about a girl with her own internet blog and drama between her friends and family. She strugles a bit, but has the curage to fix things and make it better. If you like problem solving and somthing you feel like you can relate to, than this is the perfect book for you. Its a drama, funny, and problem solving book. I wou...more

I think that this book was just as good as Rose Coopers first book, filled with many more surprises as Sofia tries to rise to the top and become popular through her blog. Can't wait to read the next book!

P.S. I liked the character named Maddie. ☺

I thought this book was very well written. Its realistic fiction, and I think any girl and guys would enjoy this book. There are a couple other books in the series, and I intend on reading those as well.

This is like the "Gossip from the Girls' Room" but from a boy's perspective. This way you can have all students read a similar book and be able to discuss them.

Cute book. Funny and a quick read. Not earth shattering, but definitely quirky enough to keep you reading!

This middle-grade novel is bonkers! And I genuinely mean that in the best way possible. Rose Cooper's illustrations and text are brilliant fun.

So many laugh out loud moments, so much zaniness, and Sofia is a terrifically kooky and charming narrator. I really enjoyed this Blogtastic! Novel.

Definitely have Ss that I can recommend this book to. :)

This is a cute book, written in a similar style to Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I would recommend this as a fun book for 5th and 6th grade girls. This just came in for our library and I will be interested in hearing the students' feedback.

This one annoyed me because the narrator is so self-centered. However, for those fans of Judy Moody and Dork Diaries who enjoy a graphic element to their novels, and even fans of basic girl school stories, this one will be a hit.

The narrator has a school-endorsed blog where she posts rumors and news, many of which are based on her eavesdropping outside of the boys' room (thus the title).
