Once upon a time in a land closer than you would think....

To be honest, when I started this book I was expected a lot of raunchy smexy scenes. I mean, look at the cover!

Don’t judge. We all need to read some raunch every now and again. What I got was....well, I am not sure. Bound by Sophie Oak will likely go down as one of the more unique books that I have read. What I was assuming was an erotic tale turned out to be a very good PNR book. It did have its share of erotic scenes but the P...more

I’m not usually a fan of the Fae/Fantasy genre, but it’s official, Sophie Oak can write anything and make me love it. I think what I most enjoy about her stories is that the romance is sweet, the sex scenes are incredibly hot, and she brings humor into all of it! I mean laugh out loud funny stuff.

In Bound, the first book in the A Faery Story series, the world created is literally the stuff from fairy tales. Trolls, brownies, kelpies, vampires, faeries… this story has it all and I loved every min...more
I just hope that this book is the beginning of a series, because I need more!! This was so different and so good. Terrific characters, a unique adventure and so much potential for this story to continue. I loved Beck and Cian, and I want to hang out with Meg and Dante. Oh that Dante, he really needs his own book. I didn't want to leave this world and I hope I get to visit again.

I have read quite a few books from Sophie Oak and she always tells a great story, lots of humor and tons of steam.

I have adored everything that Sophie Oak has written. Love her smokin hot cowboys, and the way they play. Now we have smokin manly...fairies? I was a little unsure where Oak was going with this. But I love PNR and I love her writing voice so I took the leap. This is the first fae book that I have fallen head over heals for.

Our main men in this tale are symbiotic twins. Meaning they share a soul. Two halves of a whole and they need to "bond" with their sexual partner that they will share in order...more
This is a hard book for me to rate. There is a bit I don't like but a lot more that I love.

Sophie Oak is great at world building and creating a community of characters, which is one of my favorite thing about her. Her communities are so detailed that not only do I feel like I know what its like to live there, but I'm happy there too.

As burnt out on fantasy as I'm feeling, this felt fresh. The symbiotic twin twist to menage was fun as well. The twins are extreme characters because they are half...more
I found this book on a site that was nominating best books of different categories and this title kept coming up so I thought I would check it out. The title leads one to believe it was BDSM erotica but it was more PNR to me as there are elements of bdsm but it is not the main focus of the story.

It has the usual hunky males but these are symbiotic twin brothers that share a soul and need a bondmate to complete them. This was a bit of a different spin on menage. Since the brothers share one soul,...more

OMG! Bound was *SIGH* PERFECT!!! I wish there where a million more books out there like it. REALLY!! My first love in reading is and will probably always be paranormal romance. BUT I just get bored to tears with reading the same ol same ol vanilla bore! I LOVE my kink, and Bound is BDSM HAPPY!! Which makes me ecstatic! Really! I feel like it's Christmas, and my Birthday all rolled into one GREAT BOOK!! I actually can not think of one single thing that I did not like or that annoyed me. Maybe tha...more

Grade: C

Light, easy read with the right amount of chemistry between symbiotic Seelie twins and their human mate. The sexy times are not gratuitous and had the perfect amount of steam. This m/f/m story contains light BDSM.

This story was pretty weak compared to the Bliss series book I've read. Despite the average rating for Bound, I'm interested in the next book, Beast, which is about the twin's vampire cousin Dante. If you're looking for a story with a strong plot and m/f/m then I'd recommend I...more
Very good book, with fantasy and paranormal characters. I expected it to be a standard erotic reading, but it has a lot more plot than love scenes. It was original and entertaining enough that kept my interest till the end and the twin heroes were great, one very proper, the other very playful. Their ménage relationship with the heroine was hot and sweet.

Re read, I love the humor in these books.

This was my first Sophie oak book and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect such wonderful characters. The story line I thought was pretty solid too, of course the sex wasn't half bad either. If yo are offended by explicit sex and multiple partners then this book isn't for you. It was however very good for me. 4 stars.
There are some amazingly funny passages in this enjoyable Sophie Oak book.

"She'd done the only thing she knew to do. If she was staying with him, then she needed to start training him. Sure, it usually went the other way. The submissive got trained by the Dom, but Meg had decided that her Dom was a dumbass, and things would work differently with them."

"'I want you to run,' Cian whispered into her ear, 'run and don't look back.' He was such a drama queen."

and many more....

I loved this story. This was my first Sophie Oak and it won't be my last. Ms Oak has begun building a world that I want to know more about. I loved these characters. The book is well written and the sex scenes are smoking hot. I'm looking forward to the next in the series. This book is PNR turned up a notch or two! Includes some mild BDSM,and MFM.

It wasn't a bad story but I think the conclusion could have happened a little quicker. There were parts of the story that just seemed like excessive filler to me.

Wow! Not my usual kind of read, but I'm so glad I stepped out on a limb!

I am not usually a fan of fantasy, but this sword-and-sorcery was a lot more sword and not too much sorcery or magic. Meggie gets kidnapped to become the woman to complete the trio, but this didn't really follow the stereotypical plot. In addition to hot sex, there was a mish-mash of different cultures colliding and inter-mingling in humorous ways. One sub-plot that really worked for me was the difficulty a "good" man has being dominant in bed. This was a core dilemma for the trio, and the resol...more
Rated a 5 stars before I even finished it! and its on my fav list. The only neg I can say it had more alpha male tendencies than BDSM. But hella it worked.
Okay so Beckett needed a smack but I understand why he acted the way he did. His saving grace was that he cared and was never shown how to act on it. On a hunt for a bond mate to save him and his twin brother, he meets Megan. A tart and sweet human woman from Earth, Megan was fit to be tied.. well chained litterly. With a potty mouth that wou...more
I liked the story a lot, it was rough around the edges but it didn't disappoint me.

This is the first paranormal work of this author I've read and I was impressed how she wrote a story with bdsm and erotica in a different setting. Other authors struggled, but Ms Oak pulled it off with this one.

Meg woke up in a different world and the mystery on who wanted her there is unsolved til the end. Beck was the first of the twins to have met her and instantly felt her as their bondmate. Meg has her needs...more

I would say I pretty decent paranormal (menage) romance. Although it felt more like a second book to me because some of the explanations were a little light.

Megan is a human that is kidnapped by alien traffickers. They are selling women to become bondmates to other Fae and vampire races (who all live on different planes from Earth). Apparently only certain women (human or otherwise) are compatible. Megan of course doesn't know what the hell is going on when she is chained up in a room...more

Sophie Oak is an amazing author/writer. When reading the synopsis for this book I just had to read it. Imagine three different worlds, earth plane, vampire plane and faery plane. A human is abducted and taken to faery plane to be sold to whom ever survived a fierce fight. This story is full of adventure, passion and is somewhat humorous in its own way.

Megan does some dumb moves after she is in journey to her new home with her husband Beckett. She needs to realize that she is not...more
After reading the first book in this three book series I bought the other two. This book is really good, well writen flows nice and fast, storyline is good. Fae twin sybolic brothers Beck and Cian were to be king, They share a soul so if one dies the other will too sooner than later since half the sould be gone. They are past the time to bond with a female and Cian is fading, with help of a hag who has hidden her real face from the brothers and works for the current King who killed their father....more
A review for The Romance Reviews.
Sophie Oak, my queen of menage, has left her cowboys at home to plunge me into the fantastic world of hot Fae kings, vampire planets, and the woman who changes all of their lives. BOUND, which I hope and pray is the first of a series, was brilliantly written, amazingly erotic, and utterly captivating, but it left me with one question: who knew fairies could be so hot???

This is the story of Megan, a human, who wakes up chained in some kind of tent, being tended to...more

This was a great start to a great series. I've read the series before but decide to reread and do a full review this time. Meg, Cian and Beck are all great and I loved seeing them get together. I really like all of Sophie Oak's work, she's an autobuy for me.

Megan is from Fort Worth, TX. She has 2 degrees but works in as a store manager. She is recently divorced from a man that made her feel like crap emotionally and never gave her what she needed sexually. She actually had begun to s...more

Meg was a shy and quiet divorcee who had a meaningless job. After a man grabs her off the streets of Ft Worth TX, she awakens in another world where she is bound in chains.

Beckett was a warrior, the rightful King to the Seelies. He and his symbyotic twin Cian have been refugees on a distant plane with others that fled from the Pretender King. Beckett and Cian are long over due to find a bondmate that will keep them from wasting away. This mouthy woman from the Earth

Sometimes you just need an escape from reality...and that's exactly what I got with Bound. A world filled with fairy-tale creatures and beings, and Sophie Oak's wonderful way with menage. Exactly what I needed! The characters were strong, and I loved Meg's transition from meek to powerful. Cian and Beck were everything a girl could desire in twin kings. Dante...well, needless to say, he needs his own book. Ah, I see that one's next...this promises to be a fabulous trilogy.

First let me say I hate fairy tales. I read every one as a child and still get nauseated thinking about cinderella, beauty and the beast, and the three little pigs. So i must have been out of my mind to actually think of reading this one. But the reviews tempted me. I still hesitated over the purchase button even then but finally closed my eyes and pushed "buy".
So begins my reaffirmation that a brilliant author can make silk out of anything. Story line paced. Hunks twice the fun, sex - hot. I'm...more

This was an interesting take on the the faery legend. While the book started a little slow it picked up quickly and did have a good background for the world Ms. Oak is forming. The love scenes are burning hot as you would expect from Sophie Oak but they seem to be a little rushed as if she was motivated to tell the background of the story more than she was the love story and sex parts. This was a good story and from what I understand it is the first book in a new series. Hopefully the next one w...more

This has been on my kindle for a while as I was a bit skeptical as to whether it would be any good or not....Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of Sophie Oak and her Bliss and Sirens series rank in my top fave series OF ALL TIME..... But I thought to myself....faery's yeah right...

Oh boy was I wrong....This book was freaking awesome...I loved every minute or it.... This author's talent knows no bounds and I was hooked from the start.... I cannot wait to start the next book in this series....

Love Sophie Oak's writing--her smokin' hot cowboys and all her characters are beautifully described and developed. Now we have a fae story that has some very manly fae folk mixing it up with a human beauty who is needed to keep their race strong. It is a different kind of story and one that was not always easy for me to follow, given her very different focus in her other stories. But she has branched out and brought her considerable writing talent to this genre. I don't think you can go wrong wi...more
Wanted something a little different & got it with this. This is adult/erotica, but not like some I've read. While that cover looks pretty dramatic, this was NOT dark and disturbing, instead, lighter, humorous & fun. Witty characters with heart, this was an enjoyable story that I really thought picked up once Cian was introduced. Of these twin Heirs to the Fae Throne, who have been overthrown & living as virtual peasants when we meet them, Cian is the sweet, funny, intellectual one. A...more
