I do not exaggerate when I say that absolutely nothing happens in this book to advance the overall plot, very disappointing. I would be annoyed if I had actually purchased this novel. Barely worth the read. The writing is trite and cliched in the extreme. Teenagers act like they are 50, which I guess I could accept had that been the case from the start of the series, but it wasn't.
A money-grubber equals a person bent on accumulating money; see also, Melissa de la Cruz….

I am not happy.

I will be the first to admit this series is/was mental garbage. However, it was mental garbage that I thoroughly enjoyed. You know what they say; one man’s trash is another person’s treasure. This series was one of my jewels in the literary trash heap. That is until the author chose to decimate what readability this series had so that she could milk her lone idea for all it’s worth.

Update - So it's 06/02/2014 and I decided it was time to marathon the series in honor to read the final book. OH MY! I was such a cringey 15 year old. *covers face* However truth be told, I still feel the same way I felt 3 years ago. Schuyler does have some spunk but I genuinely find myself eye-rolling at everything she says in regards to Jack - BARF. Moving on to Jack, why is he so bland and boring. Book 1 Jack seemed exciting now not so much. Also what's with calling each other "Love" it sound ...more

I'm almost half way done this book. So far, its really boring.

----> so i have finally finished this book and there are no words to describe how disappointed i am.

the first five books were amazing!

however this book kind of ruined the series.

----> I guess you can say that I'm in between loving it and totally hating it.

To be honest it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good at the same time...
the book needed something more to make it more interesting ....

The Blue Blood series didn't interest me as much as other books I have read. They are very good and will keep you on edge. I am skeptical though. The last book, The Van Alen Legacy, was not as good as I had hoped. I was not sad when it was over. It was probably my least favorite in the series to date. i hope that Misguided Angel will be better than the last. I do recommend these books though.

Blue Bloods series has always been a guilty pleasure for me, I know the series's flaws, but I can live with them.

Actually I'm here to pimp my Blue Bloods fanarts a bit.

I feel strangely unsatisfied. I just finished Misguided Angel and my initial thoughts were that it was disappointing filler. The book doesn’t really have an ending. There is no resolution for any of the characters. Very little happens in the book. The only excitement was in the first section and it was short-lived.

I couldn’t really remember why the main characters were in Europe or why they needed to run away from their captors. Perhaps too much time had passed since I read the fourth book, or

Faster, Less Detailed Review: Misguided Angel is an intense fifth installment to the Blue Bloods Series, filled with new dilemmas; lots of suspicion; answer-seeking missions; significant legacies; dangerous, abrupt murders; seven demon-proofing gates of Hell; and...the Petruvian Order. Fans will love this severely action-packed fifth book and the blend of old and new characters coming forth, and will find that that Melissa De La Cruz did not disappoint.

I don't know why I keep reading these books. I guess I keep assuming that each one will be the last, when each one really is just a set up for another sequel. Enough with series already! Not just this one, all of them! I would much rather read an 1,000-page novel than several shorter works. I had forgotten a lot since reading the last Blue Blood novel. There are so many ridiculous aspects of the Blue Blood society to keep track of. I felt lost most of the time. I also felt at times like I was re ...more

The fifth book of Melissa de La Cruz's Blue Bloods series, Misguided Angel, just released this week. I've been looking forward to this book since I read the first four earlier this year.. and loved them. This book, however, was a disappointment. It was a mediocre filler book.

Why so bad? Well, the narration no longer alternates as frequently as it once did. I found myself bored following the same characters for long stretches of the storytelling when it once jumped between them so frantically. In
Sadly, i was debating with a 2? Don't get me wrong this book was amazing. Amazing.. but short, and short of my expectations. Let's rewind, shall we? (Don't worry no spoilers)

We start of with Schuyler and Jack, YAY! i wanted to see what happens after the previous book. What an awful cliffhanger. ANYWAY, that was dangerous, intresting, sweet, romantic? I can't explain it, but that was the amazing part of the book. I think this book lacked some plot and talked more about connections, friendships,

I like the Blue Bloods series. The author has created a great group of characters and has invented a totally original and entertaining vampire mythology--not an easy thing to do these days. She writes great action scenes and always manages to infuse just the right amount of romance into her stories--romance that is not overwrought or manufactured.

All of these things still apply to this installment. The author's characters and writing are as masterful as always, but I found myself rather disappo

The fifth book to BLUE BLOODS is definitely the most action/thriller/mystery-packed book in the series and it might not be for everyone. If you're looking for more romance (like in her previous books) and less action, you might not feel too fulfilled after devoting two hours to this book. Personally though, I loved it because the plot was so intricate and it constantly kept me on my toes searching for clues. It helps a lot to have read the previous books in the series or else you might get lost ...more

Misguided Angel, the fifth in the Blue Bloods series does exactly what it was meant to do. Be a filler. Although many of us were expecting a whirlwind saga that revolved around the tumultuous relationship between Jack and Schuyler, Melissa de la Cruz instead presents her readers with a well thought out look at the other aspects of the series that she hasn't focused on. But what I find interesting is that this "filler" book is anything but.

The introduction of Deming Chen gives the reader a deepe

Jack and Schuyler fled to Europe to fulfill Schuyler's mission. At the moment, they're on the run, as Jack chose Schuyler in an unprecedented affair. While they have their romance, they also have death threats looming over their heads. Mimi is angry - really angry.

Mimi's the interim leader of the Blue Bloods for the time being. She's downplaying her role during school, but she's responsible for their survival. When a homemade movie leaks, signaling
This is the fifth book in the Blue Bloods series by Cruz. There is a novella due out for this series in December 2010 called, Bloody Valentine; the sixth book is going to be titled, Lost in Time, and is planned for an October 2011 release. This was the weakest book in this series by far. The story doesn't progress much and we are only given painfully short glimpses into what is happening to Schuyler and Jack. Many of the major players from previous books are not even mentioned.

this would have to be the fifth book of the blue bloods series.. again it is divided into perspective of 3 girls (Mimi,Schuyler,Deming Chen) the fifth installment of the book contains romance, A LOT of complications and a very rich gothic history...

a lot of things shocked me.. like for the first part (sky's Perspective) i didn't know that Sky is Jack's familiar!!!! OMG.. i know in the 4th book she gave jack some of her blood cause she is half human, half vamp. but i didn't know that they perfor

This book is what I like to call stretching out a thin plot in order to sell more books. Not a lot happened. The book is three storylines in one - Jack and Schuyler on the run, Mimi and the peeps back home and newbie Deming Chen.

Jack and Schuyler were so dang boring, they made me want to poke out my eyeballs. Mimi's storyline was slightly more interesting - I liked her interactions with Oliver. Deming Chen was the most interesting, although is book 5 really the time to introduce a new character?

Soooo I'm finally finishing up the Blue Bloods series, I read the first four super quickly back when they were first released and then sort of... let the series go. It happens (I've got about four series to finish, and that's just of the paperbacks I own) and now I'm reading the series again.

This was a strange book for me, confusing. I couldn't remember what happened in The Van Alen Legacy, I don't know what Schuyler is doing, what the legacy is, how she and Jack have ended up on a boat, trying
Can't remember when I read this in April, but I finished it and literally remember nothing. I just want to finish the last book in the series for everything to be wrapped up.

'Misguided Angel' was another 'Blue Bloods' novel which was just below a five star and wasn't enough to be one. It was yet another great story plot and one full of twists and turns where I least expected it (yet I totally should have). I felt like the whole story was just progressing too slow again. It seems I am officially stuck in a love/hate relationship with this series. I love the passion and the vampire twist the author has put on the series but it just feels like the author is prolonging ...more

In the book "Misguided Angel", it is broken into parts. Part one was about Schulyer, part two was about Mimi, and part three was about a new character named Deming Chen. The first part was about Jack and Schuyler plotting their escape from the European Coven. At first the Europeans gave the young lovers a place to hide from the New York coven, who want to see Jack dead after he abandoned his bonded mate Mimi to be with Schuyler instead, but the pair soon realized that they were actually prisoner ...more
