In this mystery we follow along with Duke Becker and his unit as they try to solve the brutal murders of two cops and catch the criminal before he kills again. The two cops don't seem to have anything in common. They have never worked the same precinct; they didn't work on the same cases. And the murder weapon is a mystery too. Their throats were torn out and shards of steel were found in the wounds. Whatever happened, happened fast. There were no defensive wounds. Also traces of canidae saliva...more
Murder In Silence
By

My " in a nutshell" summary...
Duke Becker...Inspector Duke Becker... works with his partner to try to find out who is murdering the police of New York. It's all very complicated and relates to a crime that occurred years earlier.
My thoughts after reading this book...
OMG...what a book...I was forced due to this books content to read it at breakneck speed. This book is that highly addictive combination of quirky characters and amazing freaky scary plot with just the...more

3 1/2 stars.
"Murder in Silence" is a mystery tale by Gary Kassay and is part of his Duke Becker series. The gruesome murders of two different police officers conjure up rumors of vampires when it is discovered that both had their throats torn out. Inspector Duke Becker forms a squad made of dedicated members who are definitely individuals and they are being pressured to achieve a quick solve but the clues are contradictory. The investigation intensifies as Duke interrogates various experts in t...more

I want to begin by saying that this is probably the absolute best mystery book I have read since Agatha Christie or Perry Mason. Those are my "go-to" mystery books, and I used to inhale them. For me, Agatha Christie and Perry Mason are the standards by which I judge mysteries, and this is a book I can recommend as highly as those.

Fantastic read! If you love cop dramas then this is the book for you. Follow Duke Becker and his team as they try and uncover the murder of two cops. Great, realistic dialogue that makes you feel part of the task force. A whole bunch of fantastic supporting characters you feel you're getting to know and as for the plot - it's a page turner and will keep you guessing right until the end! I am looking forward to book two in the series!

Review from Read that also
This book is a thriller to the core. The narration is fast and attention holding.I sort of found difficult to put down the book for so much was happening and I just needed to know what came next. The surprises, the twists and turns in the plot were neatly packed. I constantly found myself predicting with confidence, what is going to happen next, only to be pleasantly surprised that there was an equally believable alternative.
Speaking of believableness, I guess the autho...more
