From CLAMP comes the engaging tale of Sakura, an average 4th grade girl, who accidentally finds an enchanted book called The Clow in her father's library. The book once contained a set of magical Clow Cards, but they all escaped while the guardian of the book fell asleep. Now, Sakura is thrust into a mystical journey to capture all the Clow Cards before they wreak chaos an ...more

I finally got around to reading this (strangely enough I decided to do that after rewatching the first episode ever of Sailor Moon) and I must say I'm surprised at how different it is from the anime. I thought it wouldn't be that much, but even the same cards have different capturing plots. And it apparently wasn't Sakura's fault all the cards flew away in the first place. But I guess it's understandable that the manga would have a tighter plot and the anime would have more filler episodes. (I'v ...more

You bet your sweet ass I've read this 50+ times, the beginning of CS was perfect.

This is one of the best manga of my childhood, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This Book SO MUCH!!! <3
This book gave me the freedom of imagination, and it helped developed many ideas for my own stories!! The story plot of this manga, to me and my friends, was also very good and interesting!
It puts together the magical realm together with the human world, it also goes through many stageds of life, school, friendship and love.
Would definitely recommend this manga or any written by CLAMP, their books e
I remembered really liking Sakura, despite some... issues with later relationships. None of that is here in the first volume, though. Here it's pure, innocent fluff, which is what I always liked about it. The art is very, very cute, and the characters are very likeable. I like how straightforward the plot is (catch the cards!) and how we go straight into the action without an entire volume of backstory. I'll definitely continue re-reading the series. (Though I can't remember if I ever managed to ...more
the anime for this was on all the time when i was younger and i really enjoyed watching the show, but the manga differs from the anime a bit, which isn’t a bad thing. fist off, the first series is only 6 books, the second one is only six too, and this kind of surprised me at first because the anime had something like 50 episodes, and after reading the manga i saw how much filler was in the anime. the captures in the manga are all major cards (none of the cheap cards like the move card…) and the ...more
I saw a few episodes of the anime, and I'm surprised by how charming the manga is. I'm actually really looking forward to tracking down and reading the rest. Sakura proved to be adorable in her pursuit of the Clow. It made me wish I had a friend that wants to play dress up in all sort of costumes. haha!

Reason to read CCS Cardcaptor Sakura (if you haven't already *shocked expression*):

It's by CLAMP - only one of the most amazing manga-kas ever!

The characters - OMG, CCS is full of amazing characters you'll love & care about - Sakura, Syaoran, Kero, (view spoiler), Tomoyo, Touya - the list goes on & on. It's because of Sakura & Syaoran that I love Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Vol. 1.

The cutest little outfits EVER! I am not a princessy type of girl, but even I "Han

I loved this book. This manga was WAY better than the anime. Then again, when the anime is dubbed into English, they always lose a lot of their flavor. The main reason for this is because some of the topics are too sensitive for younger audiences. They also took a lot of Sakura's back story out of the anime, I'm told, to target more of a boy audience, seeing as that's the target audience of most anime that's dubbed into English.

The reason I gave this manga a 4 out of 5 is not because I didn't e
This will forever be one of my all-time favourites in terms of manga and anime. This was the first manga I ever read, and technically the first anime that I ever fully completed. I never did get to finish Pokemon.

By anime I mean the original Japanese version with subtitles, the dubbed version makes me want to hurl. The voices were ridiculous, I don't understand anyone who could have sat through that and even enjoyed it. If you did, I seriously question your taste/hearing abilities. Slightly jok
CardCaptor Sakura is the story of a regular girl named Sakura who happens to find a magical set of cards called the "Clow Cards". Adventures ensures after wards as she works to collect the scattered cards with the help of her friends Kero, Syaoran, and Tomoyo.

This series is one of my absolute favorite anime and manga series. It was my first manga series collected and i credited it as my segway into manga. It is intelligent, humorous, and quite fun. I highly recommend it to everyone wanted a goo
Sakura is an elementary girl with elementary problems. But when we are that young, even just an unrequited love with your brother's best friend can seem like a terrible life given to you. But when Sakura found a strange old book in her house and accidentally opened it, she unleashed the guardian and keeper of the Clow Cards, Kerberos! But the book was already empty, so where are the cards?! Kerberos tells Sakura that they are scattered all around Japan, maybe the world, and that she must collect ...more
bộ truyện nguy hiểm của tuổi thơ hung hiểm, chắc phải đọc từ hồi lớp 6 lớp 7 giờ đọc lại thấy bộ truyện càng nguy hiểm.

The ninth manga I've ever read, and the first that I've really loved. The art is amazing, Sakura is loveable, and the story is exciting, but still very cute. There's emotion! friendship! adventure!

My only complaint is that the scanlation I'm reading isn't the best, but that's obviously not a fault in the manga itself. I can't wait to read the rest of this series! magical!
Review coming soon.
Almost unbearably cute; definitely intended for a younger crowd than, say, X/1999. I like this mostly as backstory for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, which I love, as TRC features AU versions of CS's main characters. In the end, this series loses points from me for featuring my least favorite plot twist ever no less than 4 different times.

Delightful magical-girl fantasy classic by perhaps the best-known manga-writing groups, CLAMP. All the prettiness, wild fantasy, humor well mixed with devotion and (mild) peril, and other positive characteristics of more mature-themed CLAMP works. No wonder it's been re-issued *twice*--first in the proper right-to-left order, and again in omnibus editions.

An ideal series to recommend to young fantasy-manga fans, about 2nd grade up, and to older CLAMP fans who want something less confusing and he
My childhood memories! I always love the manga but i first started with anime as at that time purchasing manga was impossible and not available in my country.

Everyday I would come back from school, made sure the 45 mins was devoted watching that was aired on cartoon channel. Growing up I acquired few second-hand books and re-watched Cardcaptor series marathon even the movies during my college days.

Clamp ladies have always made my heart tingle with their series.

Much Much love to them who created

Yet another installment to the CLAMP universe. (Or should I say multiverse?) Sakura Kinomoto is a normal fourth grade student. She lives with her older brother and father. One day she finds a strange book filled with these strange cards. She accidentally scatters the magical Clow Cards all over the place. The guardian beast of the seal, Keroborous, charges her with finding the cards, making her a cardcaptor. This series is one of CLAMP's cuter stories if I must say. The overall art is cute, the ...more
Review on the first three volumes.

This series is absolutely, ridiculously adorable, and the very definition of a Magical Girl series. The plot is rather simplistic so far as I read, but who cares? Of course, anything supernatural that happens involves a Clow card, so it might get tiring after repeatedly seeing the routing where the characters go "Oh no!Something strange is happening what do we do?!" and then "Oh! It's a Clow Card! How do we capture it?" The artwork is typical Clamp goodness (wit
Once you start this book, it is very obviously a shoujo manga. The costumes Sakura Kinomoto wears, the problems in her social life, her little chibi animal's all very girly. Sakura is in 4th grade, and it is her job to capture all of the 'Clow Cards'--powerful cards created by Clow Reed, a famous wizard. The Clow Cards have escaped the book they are housed in, and if they are not gathered back together, "Disaster will befall this world." So, every time something weird happens, for ...more
I rate this book a 4.25

This series is about a girl named Sakura, who becomes a "card capturer" of the cards that control magic. She must collect them all, and if she doesn't, the world will end. She makes friends and renews friendships, and realizes the true meaning of love.

I thought this manga series was really cute and sweet. The drawings really suited the themes and ideas of the series. It was a really quick and easy read. It took a few chapters to really get into the story, but once it did,
When asked what my favorite manga-ka is, I'd have to say CLAMP without a moment's hesitation. When asked what my favorite manga by CLAMP is, though, I hesitate. It's so hard to narrow it down.

Ultimately, though, CCS is definitely in my top five. This manga is so damn charming. The main character is wonderful, delightful, and so strong, her supporting cast is memorable and beautiful. The manga covers many themes and motifs, but the one that's most compelling to me is the concept that love comes

It was really hard to not give this a higher rating because of nostalgia but the chapters didn't really connect for me. The first two were connected, chapter 3 was just a solo event and the final two chapters were connected. Also, the encounters with the Clow Cards seemed a lot shorter and less intense. Then again, I have to remember this series is aimed at pre-teen to early teen girls. Other than that I liked it as much as I did the anime all those years ago.

Huwaaa, choo natsukashii sama komik inii... Jadi inget dulu maraton baca semua series nya dalam satu malam dan ternyata masa-masa SMP sampe kuliah bener-bener masa-masa saya menggila baca komik. Sekarang pas udah lagi di jepun entah kenapa intensitas baca komik malah menurun.. Kayaknya mesti dipupuk lagi ni semangat baca komiknya :D
