These books were ok and could have stopped repeating the same sequence every book. It would show they found a clue and then marie and jack would have to find the clue and bring it back to this majical wizard to cast a spell for their next adventure. Some of these book were ok but I know they could have done better on the sequence. Overall it was a average book series so far. Once you get into the 40's then you start seeing some change in the sequence. I am average about this series I think ...more
I'd probably give these 4 stars, but my reluctant reader LOVES them. These are the first chapter books that he has been excited about. A brother and sister stick together through all kinds of adventures and learn about different times and places (dinosaurs, mummies, the amazon, egypt, etc.). It takes us two 25-30 minute readings to finish a book together. There is usually a picture in each chapter, which is kind of fun too.
The Magic Tree House series, it seems, is never-ending, so I'll save myself time and just review these ones: These are excellent, easy reads, informative and engaging for elementary schoolers. I myself learned an incredible amount about history through these books, and generations of children after me are still utilizing them. Mary Pope Osbourne definitely knows exactly how to write for children.
magic tree house mummies in the morning was a good fit book for me i read it at school and than i took it home and i finnished at night evan though i did not like the cover i still read it and i liked it i never now that i was in to magic tree house that much but mabe it was in that preticalur book iv never read a book like that befor i wil give it 5 stars
I started reading The Magic Treehouse series with my then 7 year old daughter. We enjoyed them very much and they really held her attention. Not really an adult read but they were still well written! I enjoyed many hours of them with her and would recommend them to any boy or girl.
Glad to have finally tried one of these books. I can see how the action would be exciting for both kids and parents (ie outsmarting a T-Rex!). And it's another book about kids that believe in the magic of books. Can't have enough of those.
My boys enjoyed reading this whole series. I loved it because every book teaches about a new subject: different countries, people, events in history etc. Each one is a quick read and moves pretty fast.
I read these books all the time when I was little! I love them as much as I did back then, even if the stories aren't at my level.
I absolutely LOVED the series when I was a kid, and I still do! I would recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy / adventure books!! :)
I loved reading this book to my children, they would get so excited every night to read, great short chapters and a really easy read.
When I was a young'un I thought these were the BEST!!! But now they're really boreing. So they get four stars for a good childhood
Loved this series as well. The first book was one of my favorites because I was totally into dinosaurs when I was little.
I read these to Josh and Amber and they LOVE them. They are my little Jack and Annie.
I read these with Evan when he was 4, and now I'm reading them with Logan. We love them.
This entire set of books is great Read them all many times with Lilly.
The books are a great introduction to chapter books. They have adventure and suspense and a good brother and sister team. We're moving on to the rest of the books they have at the library here; it seems there's nearly 40 books, but our library maybe has about 15 and they're not in order.
Such a great series for early readers! I think we are on # 16.
