This book, the story of the bandleader of the 1960s group The Five Americans (biggest hit: Western Union, dit dit dit dit dit, etc.), has a good structure and does a competent job of telling its now-familiar Behind-the-Music-style tale.

But Lord-all-gosh-amighty, please, all self-publishers and small-press writers, hear my cry! Hire yourselves copy editors. Find an out-of-work newspaper editor. Put an ad in a free weekly in a college town. Don't trust yourself or your Dear Aunt Minnie the school
